Is there a new wave of Kazakhs coming to the UFC in 2023?

There is Kazakhstani promotion called Octagon.

Im aware I featured Azat and Bekzat here who are Octagon champions. Wouldn't really make sense for him to go from Naiza to Octagon though, I mean it's whatever I guess but the rumor is spreading the UFC has reached out for him to be a replacement and if Duncan declines he will be on the contender series. Again, he's said he wants to go to the UFC a bunch.

I wasn’t serious.
Yeah I know he signed with that Ruby management a couple of months ago.

That famous Russian sense of humor. I'm not sure why all the fighters from that region don't just sign to the Ruby Management group. Kubanychek, Esengulov from Kyrgyzstan and Ramazan Temurov from Uzbekistan should just sign with them along with whatever Kazakhs haven't already.

Ngl this Octagon promotion sounds like something worth watching. Is there any English commentary available?

Well, Askhabov brothers was teasing on social media for years that they are signed or close to signing with UFC.

The path to getting signed for these guys has become easier that ever with the contender series, Ashkabov brothers also fought pathetic competition for years and one of them did get signed, they are not the best example my friend. They did themselves no favors and I believe also visa troubles.

Naiza and Octagon are the main promotions in Kazakhstan, kinda similar to Junglefights, LFA, Ares, Brave, FEN etc. Usually there's a couple fights on the card with guys to watch out and most others probably worth skipping. Naiza and Octagon don't have english commentary that I know of but they upload all their events onto their youtube channels in good quality I believe. ACA I think actually has english commentary and probably the 3rd deepest roster talent wise in the world behind UFC and Bellator. I just pick at these events, most LFA cards are pretty awful but there's a few good prospects or straight up good fights worth catching.

I think it was since 2017, like even here threads that they are signed. Both of them.

Yeah, I think those who promised apartament in Moscow as the prize and failed to fulfill that promise.
Kabardiev says that Sayat is working to get him 10 years visa for US, after he get it debut in UFC might happen, if everything happens ideal he might have his debut even this year. https://www.sports.ru/kazakhstan/11...ufc-esli-vse-slozhitsya-idealno-to-debyu.html

About Maksum https://vesti.kz/ufc/v-ufc-sorvalsya-debyut-esche-odnogo-kazahstantsa-podrobnosti-313577/ from June of 2022. He broke his arm in his last fight and healing wasn't gong good/according to plan. Before that plan was to sign with UFC and have his debut at event in London, Paris, Abu-Dhabi but plans changed and now it's important to heal up.
