Is the UFC trying to get rid of One Championship?

MT in 4 ounce gloves has potential to be the biggest combat sport in the world. The level of entertainment far and beyond other striking sports.

It's funny Im not a big fan of Thai boxing, but reduce the glove size and it becomes nearly a completely different sport from a viewing perspective

i don't know, that's what i thought of K-1 back in the day when they had a 90% KO ratio and it seemed like not a single fuck was given in the American audience or media.

The way to get rid of One is to buy out their top talent but instead they sign Bo Nickal for god knows how much money and now have to sign other amateurs just so he has opponents to fight

the guy is a great prospect and has foufvt for a year.
It’s like bitching about the ufc signing say craig jones or Jordan Burroughs and you’re whining wanting more wmma or other guys you never heard of

I just want to see the best fighting the best. There are many great fighters in other promotions who, if the UFC signed them, would make the divisions stronger and less top heavy

Bo is more well known by casuals in America than any champ in ONE

Ludicrous statement.

Rodtang is about 10X more well known than 'Bo'. Demetrious Johnson also much, much more of a name of course.

There are countless others. Only UFC fans know Nickel.

UFC can't really enter Asia. Always struggled really. ONE has an amazing product but is ran by an absolute MORON in Chatri. He wants to break into the American market which just is not happening. He got the number 1 star out of Japan in Takeru right now. Use him to sell

He got a deal with Amazon, who obviously absolutely dwarf ESPN, so that single-handedly has made ONE such a massive thing that is only just starting to grow.

But, mma in general in america isnt really that popular either. I have yet talked to hardcore mma fans in america outside of sherdog and some youtube comment banter. Nfl, nba and nhl are waaaay more popular in america than mma.

I absolutely agree that MMA is not nearly as popular as those you said. Now, I don't know if I can prove it, because my circle of friends & family does not necessarily represent the general population but I have plenty of friends who have watched UFC events with me in Canada. Not a single friend or family member in Asia has watched a One or UFC event ever, most (90%) had never even heard of the UFC or One. Now, that doesn't mean my Cdn friends are all hardcore UFC fans but I do think UFC or MMA has some mindshare in North America or North American sports. Almost all my friends have at least heard of the UFC, even if they are not necessarily fans

Its obvious mma isnt as big in asia as it is in north america.

Don’t believe Chatri’s lies. The UFC is the biggest promotion in Asia.

The reason they have shied in Singapore is because it is major vacation spot like one of the most visited cities biggest in the world.

Asking why the UFC has shows there is like asking why they go to New York or LA.

One copied UFC’s name not the other way around
Singapore is a major trade hub, not a vacation spot. Other than taking pictures at the Marina Bay Sands, there’s fuck all for tourists to do in Singapore. Great place to live, terrible for vacations
Korea is a good choice too but they are very xenophobic. The people wouldn't show up if there isn't a Korean star there.
This is true of every East Asian/SEA country outside of Singapore.

I think the UFC is over trying to put other orgs out of business. First of all they already have a super dominant position in the market place and are wildly profitable. Second, really going after other orgs would only support anti-trust action against them.
