Is the UFC trying to get rid of One Championship?

The UFC is in serious decline and they need new talent desperately

Yeah, their days of actively attacking or buying their competition are numbered, at least for a long while. However, I do feel like eventually one of these other shows with a bit of steam will follow the old UFC model and start doing it themselves. PFL already thinking about it.

These other organizations might buy one organization...but will never be able to do it at the level the UFC did, because there will be eyes on that stuff now.

WEC, Strikeforce, PRIDE etc

Their Muay Thai fights are some of the most entertaining fights in all of combat sports and it is very high level.
True. Sadly, the grappling matches are there as well. Oh well, you need time to make food at some point.

I kind of doubt that since the UFC doesn't have many events in Asia.

They don’t have to. They have the biggest TV deals, they best distribution, and they are the most well known and have an established fan base

In Asia One is basically Bellator. No one knows about it

If you are a serious threat to UFC, they will eventually buy you out. Wouldn't it be funny if they bought PFL, and Ngannou was forced back into the UFC? He'd probably run to One Championship then!<45>

Don't think UFC can compete, anyways One Friday Fights is on!

Keep saying it, ONE FC more exciting to watch than UFC these days. It has stars that fight 4-5 times a year instead of the 1-2 fights a year rank squatters in the UFC. The UFC roster has way too many guys well into their thirties too. It's an issue for me as you get excited about a fighter, a few years pass and said fighter starts winding down his career on one fight a year shit.

Idk, the UFC was the big fish swallowing all of the smaller fish, that's why the fed stepped in. But if a small fish is in the pond with the big fish, and is swallowing other small fish, and the big fish isn't going anywhere, idk if there is ever threat of a monopoly. If it were a foreign company like ONE, idk that it would be in any danger as long as it wasn't just buying up US orgs.

Do you live in a country in Asia or regularly communicate with people in Asian countries? I ask cause if you dont how would you know how much advertising they do there?

The UFC might be the biggest promotion in Asia in that the UFC is the biggest promotion that happens to put on shows occasionally in Asian countries but I have a hard time believing they are more popular there than promotions that put on shows there far more often.

I lived in Korea and did a lot of visits/ backpacking in other countries

You’d be surprised how popular western culture is overseas especially American stuff.

The biggest US promotion is also the biggest in Asia largely because of western-ness

Well there will never be a monopoly because that would require only one organization so that's out of the question.

A monopsony one the other hand is what the UFC is currently running, and that's a huge % of the MMA market, that makes it hard for fighters to go anywhere else.

Of course that's changing a bit since the court case, but only in the way of limiting what the UFC can buy, but they already bought a shit load of orgs.

If ONE FC starts buying other organizations they would be within their rights tbh, and PFL as well.
Problem is that ONE FC isn't in the U.S. and will be operating under a different ruleset and laws.

The way to get rid of One is to buy out their top talent but instead they sign Bo Nickal for god knows how much money and now have to sign other amateurs just so he has opponents to fight
Bo is more well known by casuals in America than any champ in ONE

UFC can't really enter Asia. Always struggled really. ONE has an amazing product but is ran by an absolute MORON in Chatri. He wants to break into the American market which just is not happening. He got the number 1 star out of Japan in Takeru right now. Use him to sell

I don't think the UFC ever thinks much of ONE and why would they....................look at ONE's financials and its a blood bath. They are literally a round of funding coming up short of being out of business.

One is a clown show akin to Bellator. They don't even put on real fights they put on executions. What is the point of tuning in to something where theres about 3 competitive matches and the rest of the fights are -2000 favorites fighting people who are making 1,300 to show thats the same bush league garbage that killed Pride Pro Wrestling.

I liked back in the day when Dana sent Chuck to rep the UFC in the LHW GP(Pride). He should do that more. Didn’t work out that time, but we found out real quick Pride had the better talent.
