I can see the UFC wanting to get in on ONE's alleged money laundering operations.

What are they going to do have Rodtang and Stamp on ESPN talking through their translator about fighting some -1200 underdog that they know nothing about? They could do the same with all the top talent from ONE. Put them on ESPN then
UFC can't really enter Asia. Always struggled really. ONE has an amazing product but is ran by an absolute MORON in Chatri. He wants to break into the American market which just is not happening. He got the number 1 star out of Japan in Takeru right now. Use him to sell
Its impossible for non asian companies to truly penetrate that market, it just never works asians are based and different culturally
As a long time UFC fan, i look forward to One FC events more than UFC events nowadays outside of the big numbered ufc events.
Any One FC event > UFC fight nights
UFC ppvs are still the premier for me, but One FC’s last event in colorado was right up there.
muay thai with mma gloves is just sick and pure violence, add that with the “poorer” muay thai fighters all gunning for that 10k knockout bonus and its action all day.
if ur an actual fan of combat sports and not just a UFC fan, you gotta love what one fc does. Free youtube events every friday and bigger events on Amazon Prime. Hell yeh!
Fans whinge that UFC don't pick up blue chip wrestling prospects early in there career, now Sherdog whinge that they do.The way to get rid of One is to buy out their top talent but instead they sign Bo Nickal for god knows how much money and now have to sign other amateurs just so he has opponents to fight
MT in 4 ounce gloves has potential to be the biggest combat sport in the world. The level of entertainment far and beyond other striking sports.Good luck, I'm watching them right now and even their MT delivers way better than 90% of UFC cards.
I agree. But instead of the UFC trying to cash in on this Dana went for slapp fighting insteadOne Championship is awesome. Muay Thai with MMA gloves is the most entertaining martial art to watch.
The American audience likes uncomplicated entertainment.I agree. But instead of the UFC trying to cash in on this Dana went for slapp fighting instead
Its for people that like watching short videos and constantly scroll social media. The American audience likes uncomplicated entertainment.

It's funny Im not a big fan of Thai boxing, but reduce the glove size and it becomes nearly a completely different sport from a viewing perspective
One has something called "Road to One" the UFC had a road to the UFC one time back in 2015 called road to the UFC Japan. Then in 2020 One makes Road to One and a couple years later the UFC brings back road to the UFC and has it in Singapore...
One Championship is based in Singapore
Also they are having an event in Singapore (Holloway vs KZ).
One Championship is the biggest promotion in Asia and it seems like the UFC doesn't like that.
I think it looks different because of the gloves and the push for knockouts so guys are going a lot more risky and brawl. But hey, its a spectator sport im all for brawls, but they are still technical.I am sort of a MT purist. I will admit that I haven't really followed the sport after I stopped training. I think the fights that ONE holds are entertaining but it's not high level MT. The Thais are usually over the hill in terms of competition. The rounds are 3 rounds instead of 5. Scoring is different as well. It isn't just the change of the gloves. It's not traditional MT. The pacing and style feels off. There is no RamMuay/WaiKru. ONE was actually getting sued by Boxing Association of Thailand for hosting those type of fights and calling it MT. I assumed they had to pay a bribe or something in order to continue to host the Thai events.
But, mma in general in america isnt really that popular either. I have yet talked to hardcore mma fans in america outside of sherdog and some youtube comment banter. Nfl, nba and nhl are waaaay more popular in america than mma.One has very entertaining fights but MMA in Asia isn't very popular these days. I'm 75% Asian, go to multiple Asian countries each yr (I am my own boss so not restricted by vacation days), have tons of friends in Asia, tons of family in Asia. I have yet to talk to anyone in Asia who told me MMA is popular over there or that One is some big huge name. There was a time in Pride's heyday but that ship has long sailed. One is not a threat to the UFC, I don't think UFC really cares about them ATM
