Is the Sopranos worth it now?

I was pretty young when the Sopranos was the biggest thing on tv so I missed out on all the fun. I keep saying I'm gonna watch it but sadly I'm a binge watcher And the thought of binging all 86 episodes of this show makes me feel exhausted.

But is it worth it? How well does it hold up after more than 20 years from its start?

It is great, but it only gets good from Season 2 and after

It gets better the older you are, so yes

The younger you are the more you want bang bang cool action scenes, and the Sopranos does'nt offer much of that

The older you get the more you are interested in dynamics between characters, human/society nature, unsaid but implied stuff, strategic/street smart shit and Sopranos does that much more

It’s worth it. It is pretty realistic so it holds up. They really were mostly dumb fat guys that did crimes. I grew up around them in NY. These were not scholars.

The first few episodes look old, but stick with it. I've heard people complain that some characters just disappeared and they didn't develop stories enough, but that I put down to being spoiled by more modern big budget TV shows.

It's a singular show. You would be correct if he was referring to a group of sopranos, as in female singers with high voices. But not when referring to a show called The Sopranos.

When it first came out I didn't get into it because I thought it was like half comedy half serious. I'm glad I tried again and got into it cause it's a hell of a show.

I began watching it when HBO 1st put it out.. got to the 2nd season and bailed. Just lost interest in some of the stuff they were doing. But that was a long long time ago.


I will watch it in its entirety at some point. To me, it’s worth it.

Its still easily in the top 5 greatest shows of all times convo.

Just insane that as soon as Seinfeld, which also gets thrown into GOAT show convos was finishing, Sopranos began....then not long after came the Wire.
