The Nurmegomedovs didn't really create and push "their style" while starting a competition to promote their style, though. I do get some of the legacy connections, but overall there are big pieces missing to compare the two.

Well.. both created an mma championship (Khabib Eagle fc and one of the founders of the UFC was Rorion Gracie).
Khabib is running a mma gym (Eagles mma), is creating a brand "Eagle" (in the future they May spread eagle mma gyms everywhere...like Gracie gyms)

The both have that connection, coming from develop countries, training hard, and standing out with their styles

He retired so quickly its hard to say what was his prime.

Who cares. Islams just a bannerman. Prime Gleison ragdolled Khabib and slapped him around.

Though I did think he probably deserved to win a close decision. He didn't in any way Ragdoll or Slap Khabib around.
