Obviously those of us in the MMA community are quite familiar with the trials and tribulations of Jon Jones. It seems when Jones first came into the MMA scene that we all took for granted that his pedigree would be first class as he is the third brother from his family to participate in the professional sports world. The assumption being that he was destined to greatness due to genetics as well as having a strong family support system to guide him.
Well...maybe that family support system isn't as strong as we might think? Jon Jones has clearly been having trouble making good decisions and has succumbed to the temptation of women and substance abuse numerous times, which has lead to a myriad of issues both legally as well as professionally. Now we also see his brother Chandler Jones who appeared to have the world by the balls with a big $7.8 million dollar/yr NFL contract on the 2014 NFL champion New England Patriots get traded to the Arizona Cardinals in a deal that many can't bend their heads around...by many accounts the Patriots got raped in that trade and has many Patriot fans fuming.
However we all know Belicheck is no dummy so why would he trade a big name, young star player that was one of the leagues most productive young rushers? Remember that Chandler Jones in the week leading up to the Patriot's playoff game against the Chiefs was wandering the streets in only his pants until surrendering to the police and admitted to hospital while having an adverse reaction to a synthetic form of marijuana called K-2

Again...this happened to the lead up to a playoff game, not the best way to get ready for the biggest game of the year.
It's clear that these two brothers in the Jones family simply don't "get it"...and you would think that they would all learn from the mistakes Jon has been making. And as Jon Jones got into further and further trouble over the past few months you had to know Belichek and company noticed that Chandler's brother simply is not capable of making good decisions, and they were about to spend another $7.8 million on a guy who could very well turn into a liability. Belichek does not take these kinds of chances - and he cut bait and made the move while Chandler's stock is still high before a possible meltdown occurs.
Is it possible that the Jones family might be an incredibly athletically gifted family, but not necessarily stable when it comes to ethics, stability and good decision making?
