Some people say "kiss-ass" or "ass-kisser" which is pretty sell explanatory.

Some people say brown-nose which is pretty disgusting if you think about it.

But what about suck-up? Like "Stop being such a suck-up." Or "He's always sucking up to the boss."

What is the implication there? Are you suggesting that someone is sucking a penis?

Like I've never thought about that being a dirty term before. In fact I say it work all the time, and I work at a place where you gotta walk on egg shells lest you get HR up your ass.

Have I inadvertently being telling people they suck dick?

You've put this in the right section bro

It definitely doesn’t imply you’re sucking dick. If it did, our parents never would have let us say it when we were kids.
