Is Strikers still a term?

Problem is not just dictionary but even on google if you hit "striker meaning" its about soccer. Is the term striking that niche? I legit ask because I am a fan of martial arts and I am blindsided to how much society knows about MMA and MMA terms.
Yes, it's a niche term with other "dominant" meanings. Just like the dictionary doesn't list the word down as something that occurs in American football, or list the word bucket as a car, and the score of a point in basketball.

It isn't the true meaning of the word. Under "strike" it includes something to the effect of "to make impact with", and that's all the definition needed. A striker then, is something that makes contact with something else, regardless of it's a hammer, or an mma fighter. So why would the dictionary specifically reference MMA? It's just a stupid question.

That's how English works
