Yes, it's a niche term with other "dominant" meanings. Just like the dictionary doesn't list the word down as something that occurs in American football, or list the word bucket as a car, and the score of a point in basketball.Problem is not just dictionary but even on google if you hit "striker meaning" its about soccer. Is the term striking that niche? I legit ask because I am a fan of martial arts and I am blindsided to how much society knows about MMA and MMA terms.
It isn't the true meaning of the word. Under "strike" it includes something to the effect of "to make impact with", and that's all the definition needed. A striker then, is something that makes contact with something else, regardless of it's a hammer, or an mma fighter. So why would the dictionary specifically reference MMA? It's just a stupid question.
