Is Stipe the most evolved fighter ever?

Thats why all of them cut weight. Fighting at hw would be too easy.
It' a riskier class to fight at for sure and would be harder to win decisions as well being smaller since it would take more time. Johnson came from 170 all the way up to heavyweight and fought arlovski and beat him. He didn' stay at heavyweight cause he said he didn't like getting hit that hard. In a sport where brain damage is very real it makes sense to avoid fights that like that. That's why I imagine many fighters fight in weight classes below

compared to the other divisions it is 100% with out a doubt, no argument what so ever, a joke
Not entirely wrong. I hate to call any division a "joke" (except for women's bw, smh) but even flw is deeper than hw at this moment.

I'm pretty sure people have been punching other people in the face for a long time.

That's why I said "compared to other divisions" not just calling it a joke in general. The talent just isn' the same. I wouldn't favor stipe over cormier, jones, gustafsson, nor rumble. It' the guys like Cain and lesnar that have strong wrestling and heavy hands that make staying at heavyweight scary. If there was more space like no octagon then that might even be a problem but as is it just doesnt make sense. A smaller guy fighting a bigger guy is going to need more space then two of the same sized people fighting but that just wont happen

certainly not.

he came into MMA with a boxing background, and wins primarily using fisticuffs, esp strong straights and jabs.

he gassed in a fight early in his career, stupidly. so he made the necessary adjustments.

he is now a fighter that wins primarily using fisticuffs, esp strong straights and jabs, and yet doesn't gas stupidly.

better question - does TS purposely dumb himself down to get a high number of responses? or (and this is a sad thought) does he not do it on purpose?

Is TS one of the least evolved posters on Sherdog? Can we add that poll to this thread?

Yeah sure, he just decided to avoid the top of the HW div because of brain damage hahaha
Barely beating post 08 Arlovski is kinda different to being top 3 but okay

I'm not even 100% he qualifies for homo sapiens sapiens.

Because how can you lose to this guy

Werdum went from being a BJJ guy getting beat by Sergei to a guy who knocked out a K1 Champion with a legendary chin. He's honestly one of the best strikers in the HW division.

yeah you know cause arlovski didnt go on a 6 fight win streak right after that and he didnt lose in a number one contender fight to the current champ. Yup definitely way different then beating a top 3 heavyweight yup yup yup

This is a true statement. I can't think of another HW fighter that has changed their game as much as Fabricio.

In all of mma its MM easy. At heavyweight its werdum.

Not at all! Stipe lost to Struve because he is fighting in the HW division. He is hittable and will lose again soon, mark my words.

Good boxer. Good wrestler although not super elite

Not much of a kicker or submission guy.

Would he survive if he had prime Brock or prime Mark Kerr on top of him?

Evolved? No.

He's a Golden Gloves Boxing Champ, and a Division 1 wrestler.

He got CAUGHT against Struve, nothing more.

At HW, anyone can be finished with one slip.
Wait do you mean one slip up or one slip?

Great guy, good Champ, not legendary if we consider all-time MMA

Like Werdum he's imho one that had the luck to be at his best in a period of decline of the division

Werdum never was top3 golden age Pride elite level during Fedor/Nog/Mirko prime days, and imho Stipe is'nt on par with best version Cain/JDS/HW DC

Good guy though

I got the feel next he will either play smart and get an ugly UD win on Ngannou, or play tough guy and get brutalized

Ok arlovski was top 3 lol
