I wonder if:

- The fight took place earlier on the card (less water on canvas)
- The UFC employs guys that know how to towel off the canvas thoroughly between rounds


Would the outcome have been different?
 
Rumble at HW is a bit of an unknown for me. At LHW I think part of his success was really that the division was lacking in really powerful dangerous strikers, it had a lot of workrate fighters who take a lot of punishment so having to face that extra power was a big shift.

This isn't really so special at HW, I think more than ever theres a style divide between divisions that's more than just about size, pretty much all successful HW's have that extra focus on finishing ability.

In Rumbles favour though nobody at HW is exactly brilliant defensively these days and there are few if any(depending on Cains actual form) top level wrestlers around.
 
Anderson Silva lost to Takase and Chonan while in his physical prime with years of pro fighting experience, then went on to be one of the GOAT fighters. So the answer to your question is no.

I wouldn't say he got caught. He blew his wad, gassed and got stopped. Its not like Struve landed a lucky shot in a wild exchange and "caught" him.
 
Evolved or not, he's fighting a big-ass gorilla that can rip his head off... just sayin.
 
4/5ths of those images are of him out striking guys that have been outboxed numerous times throughout their careers, doesn't require huge evolution, we already knew he was good with his fists. Struve is a very big powerful guy and sometimes guys like that can just land at the right time

If arlovski won he was fighting for the title next. That was understood fool. It was a number 1 contender fight and nothing else. Jesus Christ you people can' remember shit
