Can't wait for 220 it's gonna be awesome. Stipe is one of my all time favourites, he's a badass in the cage and seems like a thoroughly decent guy out of it which is refreshing when we live in an era where everyone just shit talks.

Just hope he can weather whatever Francis throws at him and get the job done. No matter which way it goes hopefully we will see an awesome scrap.

Evolved? No.

He's a Golden Gloves Boxing Champ, and a Division 1 wrestler.

He got CAUGHT against Struve, nothing more.

At HW, anyone can be finished with one slip.

I feel like Stipe came by at the right time. When all the other heavy weights were getting older and kinda complacent.

to be fair, that was during struves prime before his heart went plfffft. but yeah stipe is awesome and i hope he can defeat that gargantuan

he got poked in the eye. He always had the skills to pay the bills...obviously he kept improving, but its not like "incredible"

I mean I thought when he had that war with JDS the first time that he had what it took. That was a very close fight.

You mean like ever ever...? or like since the inception of MMA?

Conor evolved more after the diaz1 fight then stipe has in his entire time in the ufc. The truth is the overweight division is a joke. All those guys have been around since the dawn of time and they just cant hang anymore. Andrei and overeem get knocked out by everybody. Bald JDS sucks compared to full head hair JDS. Stipe is talked about like hes some great boxer but he barely moves his head if at all and hes gonna fall off the radar hard once he gets caught. He gets pressured a lot and nearly put out in a good amount of his fights he just has the youth the others dont to tough it out. Hes done good but I wouldnt say hes evolved and I dont think hes going to last very long. Reminds me of heavyweight Ronda

No it is not a joke. It lacks for new talent, but the older guys occupying the top slots still have skills. Stipe,Overeem,Werdum,Cain,Hunt,JDS and others are not unskilled fighters at all.Ngannou is a very interesting prospect to watch. Maybe some guys are inconsistent performers at that this stage, given their age,but to call HW a joke? No,it is not.

Hard to say but he is one of the most powerful along with improvements. I've seen it happen a lot over my life. Frank Shamrock became a proficient kickboxer working with maurice smith when he was a submission grappler, Werdum and RDA developed good muay thai by mma standards, Hell tito ortiz had some boxing at the end of his career. It just depends on who trains you and how well you can pick it up. I want to say GSP started out as a karate fighter with some limited BJJ training and turned into this outstanding wrestler and great jabber as well as good BJJ.

GSP is a good example.

May struggle against struves reach, struves an awkward fight for anybody

compared to the other divisions it is 100% with out a doubt, no argument what so ever, a joke

I just made an argument. Jon Jones if he ever gets off suspension,is gonna stay in his lane.

kyokushin karate was gsps background and his bjj isnt really praised its his takedowns ability and his ability to keep top control so its his wrestling that is praised
