Difference is that's McGregor warming up whereas for Seagal that would be the meat and potatoes of his exercise.

I think McGregor has a similar ego to Seagal though, he thinks he's supernatural and isn't but isn't a complete hack like Seagal.

Half of it is probably the persona he adopts to promote himself. I doubt he's the same way at all in person.

I cannot say whether or not Seagal is legit, but I believe that the Korean art of Hapkido has legitimate application. The demonstrations have become ridiculous, but the emphasis on circular movement in all situations and the heavy emphasis on kicks to set up grappling exchange can be effective.

Whittaker is a black belt and I believe you can see Hapkido philosophy on display in the Romero fight.

I have used it extensively in wrestling and Jiu- Jitsu and I think it has given me an advantage in establishing grips.

Certainly, I cannot believe that it could be the basis of a fighting style, but I don't regret training in the art.
