Social Is sherdog a tougher community than others?

Yes you get away with slightly more insensitive humor and flaming here than most places.

There are a couple sites that are better but if you publicly admit to being on them people look at your weird(er than if you admit to being a Sherdogger).

So places like mmajunkie etc tend to consider this an immature trollish foru, and over all i find their speech control to be much stricter. On tiktok some pretty meek mesaages get flagged by the a.i for example i said someone didnt know shit about how british politics works and it was flagged as bullying. I know reddit is far stricter due to the karma system even though they allow suicide tip groups but not light flaming.

So is this sort of a ghetto vs others or is this place par the course in terms of the kind of ex̌changes allowed? Are we basically a ghetto?

Reddit is a very strict place, but a good majority of the people there are stupid and easy to troll. They are just lucky because of the karma system in place.

T-nation is extremely toxic to anyone who is not jacked, even if said not jacked person is a strong guy or have great BJJ skills. You may as well be a lowly animal there if you dont have abs.

Bodybuilding dot com is not as harsh as Sherdog, but that place is one giant comedy sketch. Most people there don't take the whole community seriously.

Now Sherdog... This place is the most troll-proof place I've ever been in, but somehow, some way, the top people in the community are trolls themselves who simply know how to god-tier troll.

I spend most my time in Quora when I ask serious questions.

Sherdog is the freest multi-ideology, multi-topic online community I know of. That could be because it has the ethos of a guys hangout. Sometimes guys want to goof around, or talk smack, or absorb knowledge, debate politics, show-off, etc., etc., and Oh yeah, Talk about MMA. But in a guy's hangout it ain't about censoring people or having them watch their mouth...well, maybe just enough to keep things civilized.

Not really.. I guess you are given more leeway with common talking points, but there are still opinions that will get you banned instantly that advertisers must not be a fan of. I like Noam Chomsky's quote on the subject. "The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate."

I've thought of Sherdog as being a good, nice forum overall.

I suppose the worst, angriest forum I can remember being part of was a place where a lot of high University degreed individuals would chat off topic. That was a rough place. Members there would get into your head. They not only would play ruff with politics and simple personal chats, and would make it personal, look people up, find dirt, and bully people. I didn't hang around there for long.

I got a three day ban from the soccer subreddit for calling myself retarded because of ableism so it's certainly tougher than there.

This place is awesome

I tend to get banned fairly quick at "Safe" forums. Speech control kills communities

Well you've got to 22 posts, so lets not get ahead of ourselves here, but solid start.

the tough part of sherdog is trying to use the website as its slowly dismantled and put back together more shitty

I've called Francis Ngannou ''Magumbo'' which is what Joey Diaz calls him and mods gave me a double red card because of ethnic slur. Now imagine me calling Stipe Miocic ''Stiopic''(which is what Joey Diaz calls him), nothing would've happen.

I called Nate Diaz a POS and they put me on yellows... despite the guy being a braindead POS

Back in the day I said Robbie Lawler physique was suspicious before USADA and a nuthugger mod put me on yellows to. Must have been a snowflake fanboy.
