Is Sal D'amato the worst judge in MMA?

Part of the problem of seeing Sal's name a lot in bad decisions is that you see Sal's name a lot, period.

I mean, since the start of 2023 to today, he's judged 253 fights for UFC/Bellator/PFL. Same time is 131 for Chris Lee, 125 for Cleary, and 83 for Ron McCarthy
(Again, these are only fights that actually reached a decision, not counting fights they judged that finished)

Yeah, like 4 times a year. Are you watching a bunch of Cage Warriors, cuz unless you're going back to 2015 or something, I assume you're really upset about the rounds 4 and 5 that he gave to Izzy over Whittaker or the fact he didn't give a 10-8 to Ronnie Lawrence in round 2 that same night, but that's about it for the UFC

The zero accountability for and by any commission staff is a fucking joke. You have Steve Mazzagatti specifically admitting that he messed up and a fighter has a loss he shouldn't because of him, and it still doesn't get overturned when it was appealed? You have the director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission comment on a judge's scorecard going “The one judge that had it 10-8 — we went over it in the debriefing — and that 10-8 was unacceptable” and did the score change? Of fucking course not.

That's how bad the state of transparency is: That's honestly the WORST thing I've ever seen a commission do punitively to a judge, comment negatively about the scorecard. And it's only happened once that I can recall. The only thing you can hope is that a bad stoppage is quietly overturned every once in a while. That's all you get.

it's the Whittaker fight, it exposed him as a fraud and a dishonest human being

Ah yeah. We're here in this thread talking about the countless refs who repeatedly turn in egregiously bad decisions. But that one fight is concrete proof that he is corrupt.
