only really outkast came from a similar era and they managed to bridge the gap from the Renaissance of rap (early 90s) into the 2000s, while Cube wasn't able to. the genre left him behind imo. besides outkast, who had decent hits, i don't know much about anyone else you listed. the genre moved past me too.

gfk is amazing of course, probably my favorite wu member....the whole wu tang experiment was incredible as well and I'd say if you looked at them as a whole, they produced so much quality for years in solo and group albums. I'd have to check his discography but I still rank it below cubes 4 albums.

Some metal music is pretty offensive and should be labeled as such. There's certain genres of metal I would certainly not want my kid listening to. Any music that condones violence or degeneracy should just be called what it is.
Its OK to have standards for your kids and even your community. We've gotten too used to not having them over the past 30 years or so and its a problem.

There's nothing wrong with calling out indecency and pointing out the shittiness of certain lifestyle choices even when a minority is involved. I don't want my kid glamorizing a shitty lifestyle even when a white guy sings about it.

Every genre has shit. And yes, what gets embraced is reflective of culture. But saying entire genre’s are something bad is nonsense. If you want to rail against certain artists, fine. If you want to demonize an entire genre, which has some good, intellectual, affirming music, it’s intentional and/or ignorant. Some of the stories actually should be heard by people like you.
