Is Mousasi the fighter who has fought in the most different countries?

I wouldn't call him a journeyman because he's won championships in a lot of major organizations throughout his career. I think he stood a VERY good shot of being the MW champ in the UFC, but while he was on his last run, the UFC were playing fuck-fuck games with the MW title by giving Weidman an undeserved rematch against Rockhold, then Bisping beats Rockhold in a short notice fight, then he fights Hendo and GSP, and then all the interim title nonsense with Whittaker and Romero, etc.

If the UFC matched Moose up with either Rockhold or Bisping, I can picture him taking gold. Whittaker and Romero would've been interesting. Had they gone to Moose for the interim TS against Gastelum instead of Adesanya, he would've finished Gas inside of two.

How'd you confirm? Sherdog fight fighter doesn't show the countries on his profile and he has no wikipedia page?

I have a big database of fights. You can probably see the countries on his tapology page.

Christian Mpumbu and Sokoudjou fought both in 13 countries
Mpumbu: France, Switzerland, England, Italy, Netherlands, USA, Thailand, Japan, Russia, Ulraine, Poland, Finland, UAE
Sokodjou: USA, Canada, Japan, Brrazil, England, UAE, Australia, occupied territories, Italy, Russia, Poland, China, South Korea

What about shonie carter? Given his nickname i would imagine he had fought in tons of countries. Dont really know though some young brainiac sherdog stud can look it up if they feel like it.

Mousasi is tied at #54 w/ 12.. FYI

Are you counting England and North Ireland as one country then? Because he's at 13 in my count.

Also, how'd you get to the 54th place so quickly? Did you run something through a database or something?

Check my signature....

UK and Northern Ireland are combined as one... you are correct. I don't think Northern Ireland is technically a country.

Makes sense then how you got all that info so quickly. Care to share who are in the top 10? If you're actually going to write an article about it for the website and don't want to post it publicly you can PM it as well. I'm kind of curious now.

Thanks, basically ends the entire thread. I think Monson is the only one I could've reasonably guessed from that list myself.

Looking up random fighter... Bisping 7: countries, England, USA, Canada, Scotland, Brazil, China, Australia

Jeremy Horn 10:USA, Brazil, Japan, Canada, Netherlands, England, Guam, South Korea, Ireland, Sweden

Travis Fulton 13: USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan, England, Russia, Guam, Croatia, Mexico, Belarus, Germany, Ukraine, Slovakia. He also boxed in Denmark so counting that would be 14.

With 20 or more pro fights, Gregor Herb has the most impressive country to pro fight ratio.
13 countries in 24 fights. Impressive. Rimbon is second.

With 10 or more pro fights, amazingly.. Christophe Van Dijck has fought in 13 countries in 14 pro fights..

Somehow my count was 12 for Fulton but seems like I was wrong. If you count MMA and other combat sports then for Melvin Manhoef you get Netherlands, Japan, Hungary, Korea, Russia, USA, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, England, Singapore, Poland, Brazil. Also 13.

Well Guam is technically owned by the US so if I excluded that it would be 12. Still 13 if you count his boxing match in Denmark tho.

Damn, did you find a list of fighters that have fought in a ton of countries somewhere?

I'd personally count Guam and USA as two seperate countries just like I'd count North Ireland and England as two. For another fighter I counted Aruba and the Netherlands as two. Guess you could debate about that though. When countries have their own national football team and flag that's good enough for me but that's a pretty arbitrary way to look at it though lol.

That last one is especially impressive. Any way to include other combat sports fights like kickboxing or boxing in it?

You beat me to it. Mr International might not be the winner but hes definately worth a mention.
