I think it's a great win even at the time. Conor has been Max's only loss for a while. The fight was pure display of domination, something we rarely see when watching his fights.

FW was something else.. what you guys think?

Aldo in my opinion and its not even close
Unbeaten for over a decade, FW GOAT

Eddie was another flawless performance, but Aldo was a much higher caliber fighter

Max was a good win, but he was still a young kid with only 7 wins 2 losses at the time

At the time, Max was the same age as Conor was when he was getting tapped by forgotten Russian dude. Not saying it wasn't a good win still, but you can't seriously compare that to beating Aldo. Especially in the way that he did it.

To be fair Max was pretty amazing from a young age, I remember I and many fans had him winning that fight vs Bermudez before fighting Conor. Obviously a green Holloway isn't as big or a win as Aldo, Poirier or Alvarez, I agree with you.

Nah, wasn't that great of a win at the time. Max was coming off a loss and a split decision win over Leonard Garcia and was 3-3 in the UFC after the Conor fight. He did learn from his losses and got some solid wins a couple years later, but Aldo was his best win and Mendes his 2nd best.

He was good, but I remember his saying that at the time, he was 'training out of his garage'. Not exclusively of course, but his point was that he didn't have the money to fund a proper camp. I know that a lot of fighters exaggerate, make excuses, but Max is not the type. I tend to believe him.

Also worth noting is that Max did have some success in that fight, making Conor miss and catching him with some sneaky check hooks - something that Conor had not really seen from his other UFC opponents. I actually think that Conor was starting to slow down midway through round two, and this is why he took Max down (which led to the injury).

This pretty much says it all.
Max became a great fighter but is beating him at 21 more impressive compared to some of the other things that Connor has done... No

Max shouldve lost to Leonard "Robber" Garcia of all people before that one.

Max was still a 22yo fighting MMA for 3 years and wasnt even a top 30 FW when they fought. They were both prospects and wouldve been killed by the top FWs of they fought them then in 2013.

Its a decent one but Conor has many better wins-Aldo, Eddie, Chad, Nate, Dustin, Cowboy. Shit Buchinger when Conor beat him was very good and better than 2013 Max.

I'd say Eddie
Max aged the best but up until Khabib rose to the top, Eddie was the best lightweight. Conor destroyed him. Made it look easy. It didn't make sense. The max win isn't impressive because max wasn't the max we know. Had he beaten him circa 2015...yeah.

arguable. dustin , aldo, mendez and alverez( came a bit to late for eddie) are all really really good wins. conor has a super legit resume. even when it comes to timing of these fights. he didn't fight them when they were well past their prime he fought them all on the come up when they were all equally as hungry and fresh. The magic that made conor so effective is gone though. he still has his power. he does not approach the game the same though. imo it was his approach and mindset that made him initially appealing as a fan to follow. idk if hes that anymore because he fights way different and it goes against him in tougher fights against stronger guys

Max was 3-2 in the UFC and coming of a loss when the faced Conor.

Anti climax, fluke or whatever, KOing Aldo in 13 seconds was a phenomenal result

You can’t give Conor credit for anything especially beating max with a torn acl. Conor hasn’t done anything worthy of respect on sherdog, which as we all know is why he got into combat sports in the first place. Immediate permanent ban for the TS please.
