Is Making The Dean's List a big deal?

No, it's worthless. Why did you even go to college? There's plenty of gas to be pumped.

Nah, not really. It's good you're busting your ass for undergrad.... But, if you're not gonna go to grad school then no, it's nit that big of a deal.

Plus, St. Johns University? Acceptance rate over 50%? Pshh, def not that big of a deal.

with a 20%+ attrition rate. :D

I haven't decided if im going to go to grad school just yet. but it's in the plans

The Dean's List means nothing at my college. For a few years, it was literally just a white 8.5x11 paper with names printed on it, that you can tell was printed off of Excel, posted at random locations throughout the school (IE: next to bathrooms). It was like (minus dashes):

DEAN'S LIST-SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

LAST NAME---------MIDDLE NAME--------FIRST NAME
Marshall---------------------------------James
Smith---------------Joseph--------------Paul
Sullivan---------------------------------George

In black 12pt Times New Roman font.

It doesn't mean much long term as most employers aren't going to care about it.... but it is an accomplishment that requires a certain level of work to achieve, so you should be proud of it.

It's great getting on the list for Keith Jardine's parties, dude's bruschetta is off the chain!

Depends on what your major focus of study is. If you're a liberal arts turd, then it's not really a big deal. If you majored in something useful and in demand, then congratulations. This will certainly enhance your marketability for post graduate programs, internships, jobs, fellowships, research opportunities, etc.

It's something to put on your resume that does mean something. It shows that you were able to excel in your schooling and that you gave 100%. Does it necessarily mean you are smarter than those not on it? Absolutely not, but it does show that you put in the work. That's one thing we notice a lot here - some high GPAs and people on the Dean's list aren't necessarily smart at all. We do a Wonderlic test for all employees and you'd be amazed how low some college grads score.

Nah, making a lot of money is a big deal. If you make the Dean's list, but it doesn't add up to shit, it's not a big deal.

Are you sure you made the Dean's list? You seem to have trouble spelling simple words. And you're a white belt.

Bs thread.
