I know that Matt Brown has had an up and down career, some good wins, with quite a lot of loses, he has shown improvements too. But I just can't help but feel that this fight is a gimme fight for Maia, especially because it is in Brazil.

Both are 8-2 in their last ten fights, Brown has obviously fought tougher competition, but despite being 38, he looked very dominant against a much better grappler in Nelson.

I see this fight going like... Maia comes forward, pushes Brown to the cage, grabs a single leg, and shortly after he taps him due to a choke. How do you think?

All depends.

If Brown is able to keep range and his TDD holds up, he can hurt and wear down Maia.

If not, Maia rapes him easily.

It is a horrible style match up for Brown but I think he may be able to catch Maia coming in.

Maia via decision in a very uneventful fight

With Brown's wild style, its hard for him to ever be a gimme. It wouldn't surprise me seeing Maia toss Brown for 4 minutes, and tap him out with a triangle choke. It also wouldn't surprise me to see Brown land a hard jab, stun Maia, and just swarm him to get the finish.

Hoping brown can pull this off

Hoping Maia wins with a blood squirting out the nose rnc

Safe sherdog answer: This will be a good fight. Safe bet is Maia by sub or UD, but it is a fight and anything can happen. Both fighters are tough and are hungry enough to get job done.

Me: Maia by flying omplata.

I don't think so, while It def wouldn't surprise me if Maia dominates him on the ground and either Submits Matt or wins a decision. But something tells me we might see Matt at his best that night and he'll make it super fun fight.

I never ever count Matt Brown out

he won't, he'll be grapplefucked and his poor grappling will be exposed again. Then you'll whine about there not being enough violence.

there's always enough violence in a matt brown fight, is this your first time hearing about matt brown?

Maia will get the TDs via single legs, where he will promptly thereafter take mount and keep Brown in a bad spot for 3 rounds, taking a comfortable UD. The wild card is if Maia gets tired and gets stuffed, then Brown turns up the heat for the finish in the 3rd.

War Maia

he'll get grapplefucked without even being able to get anything going. It'll be fun to watch him be made useless, he's obnoxious.

Maia's cardio isn't the best, if he can't submit Brown early In the fight. Might be game over. Brown will light him up on the feet. Matt is a tough mofo

don't count brown out man, sure if this goes to the ground he's fucked but he could also keep distance and land something n end up fuckin some shit up.

hope matt can do it.

There's no such thing as a gimme fight with regards to Matt Brown. That dude could kill anyone standing given the right night. Maia surely has a good chance of submitting him but Matt has an equally good chance of destroying Maia standing...and thats where the fight will begin. Matt should not be overlooked... especially against someone who's stand up pales in comparison. Maia is going to have a tough time getting him to the mat, and even once he's there Brown had shown tremendous grit off his back and good defensive technique. Obviously if it hits the mat Maia has a huge upper hand but there's no way you coukd call this a gimme fight. Maia is going to get hit and with Brown his chances of avoiding a brawl are lower than with most strikers.

A couple of big problems for Brown in this fight. He does his damage in the clinch he is not a great range striker with power. Problem 2 is Matt Brown has been submitted 9 times in his career lol.
