His striking is still laughable, and he needs to wrestle you in order to beat you. How do you think Khabib would do in a street fight?

Last I heard wrestling was allowed in a street fight. So he'd probably do pretty well..

GEtting body slammed on concrete would fucking suck

Would you rather be suplexed onto your head on the octagon canvas or pavement?

He'd maul almost anyone 1 on 1. If he's against 2 or 3 guys he has no chance as he's a grappler. Better to be a McGregor who can knock people cold with 1 punch in a street fight with multiple people.

I'm glad we are discussing this on an MMA forum.

Good chin + vicious wrestling + crazy russian (no fear)

I saw a post about Khabib on youtube yesterday that described him pretty well, so credit to that guy( dont remember the video though)

"I've never seen someone so comfortable around violence like Khabib is. He must have seen and dealt with some tough shit back in the day in Russia"

It was something like that.

Khabib is a scary dude

I dont know gettin slammed head first on the floor can end a street fight rly damn fast...

If he was fighting a gang of people he'd be fucked

If he was fighting 1 on 1 he'd drop your head onto concrete

Close up wrestling is never good in street fight, guys bite, eye gouge, fish hook, plus harder to judge if any of their friends are about to come stump you. You never want to be that close or on the ground in a street fight.

He is from Dagestan. His father fought against salafis during the war. Of course they have seen and dealt with crazy stuff.

Luckily i fight with a gun.
So he would cost about 50 cents to dismiss.
Get your tough guy attitude on, and i'll keep my distance.
Give me enough time to rack my .45 and your tough guy attitude will disappear fast.
Know your rights. And have your carry permit

P.S don't ever pull a gun on someone unless you are going to pull the trigger

Every self defense expert I’ve listened to has said you ideally want to be far away and heading the other direction, but other than that, you want to be in close controlling you’re opponent. There are ways to protect yourself from bites and eye gouges, and those are both preferred to the alternative of getting stabbed by a hidden knife or other variables that you can’t control by staying at an unsafe distance.

There's no ref to stand them up in a street fight. Khabib would be just as dangerous and would eventually get a sub imo

The only good advice they are giving there is the first part, but then it depends on your level, most novices can't strike for shit and wouldn't be able to keep a guy on the street at range. Street fighting can be dangerous and leads to a lot of deaths, guys stabbing people on the ground, wacking them repeatedly on the back of the head with bats. Knife isn't a good example there, wrestling someone with a knife is just pure stupidity. Too many theoretical street fighters in Self Defence classes and here on Sherdog. But then I live in a violent city that can be pretty vicious and when younger idiotically thought my jujitsu would help, it did in getting bigger guys to the ground, doesn'y help when their mates jump on top of you. Wrestling a dude is no deterrent to their mates, dropping them though or busting their nose with a headbutt can be. And if it isn't and your group is out numbered you are still upright and ready to run. Being aware of your surroundings is paramount, you lose a lot dropping to the ground. Again a lot of self defence is hypothetical and very little help against really nasty viscous people that know what they are doing.

And again my issue isnt that up close can't be more effective one to one, it is there are too many dangers with it and you sacrifice too much (The ability to run like f^*k if outnumbered being one)
