Is Jon Jones the biggest duck in UFC history?

Pretty sure this has already been confirmed, we don't need anymore Jones thread (unless Hits another car and runs away).

Nah. He blatantly ducked Aspinall and protected his record as much as possible throughout his career, but he didn't duck Francis. The UFC just fucked that up at every possible chance.

Iron lady GDR and nicco Montano share that distinction imo

Jon may be a piece of shit as a person, but it's not the "Ultimate Humanitarian Championship" no matter how the fan base feels about it

You seriously comparing wmma to someone regarded as the mma goat?

GDR didn't want to fight a drug cheat. When has Tom ever been popped?

And to my memory, those chicks didn't do it multiple times either

Dana kisses Jon's ass like nobody else but admitted Jon ducked Francis at one point.

Dana kisses Jon's ass when it's convenient. He's also more than willing to throw Jones as hard as he can under the bus whenever it suits him. More than anything, Dana wants to protect Dana.

I'm comparing incidents of blatant ducking, bud.

They all 3 ducked the next opponent, but GdR and Nicco literally pulled a Riddick Bowe and tossed their belts aside to avoid Cyborg and Val.

Jon shouldn't have drug the whole thing out but he has 2 or 3 careers worth of accolades to feel good about

Other than Aspinall and maybe Ngannou who else has he ducked? Both fights at the end of his career, a division above his own.

He surely has the biggest profile, but the biggest ducks i believe are and will be Montaño and GDR.
Pretty sure GDR would have fought Cyborg for $30M. Who has turned down that much just to avoid an ass beating?

Its Bones, 100%, but not for ducking Tom. Jon Jones cancelled UFC 151 by refusing to fight... A late notice MW in Chael Sonnen? The supposed #1 GOAT seriously refused to fight a smaller, less powerful, and greener version of the fighter he had already been training for. Probably the most egregious duck I've ever seen in my life.

GSP and Anderson and Fedor are all called out for ducking… maybe it's kind or a curse?

Jones drug out his retirement way to long, if he'd just hung it up y'all still be saying he retired to run away.

Let's revise the GSP ducked Anderson ducked threads.

On 8 day notice, the card sucked, the UFC blames Jones (ultimately true) but their card was crap.Greg Jackson advised Jones it was a stupid fight on a late notice. His primary opponent Dan Henderson who until Dan finally said he was out, is absolutely a more challenging opponent than Cheal.

Tom that shit is ducking, and annoyingly so, skipping a fighter on 8 days notice isn't. I guess technically its skipping the fight but maybe I see it as more strategy and mitigating risk. Which a champ should consider.

He blatantly ducked 2 super fights against Francis and Aspinall, ducked Tom for years
ducked DC at HW
didn't give Chael a chance on late notice
ducked under the cage at Team Jackson and hid there for hours and pissed himself when USADA came knocking

Is Jones the biggest duck in the UFC ever?

He wanted to do what GSP did. Fight stylistic good fights for him post his “retirement”

Like GSP … re-retired when he couldn’t get his easy fight.

Both avoided the dominant KO champ.

Silva/Francis

Both moved up when they felt there was an easy opponent to became double champ

Bisping/Gane.

Both wanted no part the interim champ.

Whitaker/Aspinal

Is it ducking? In part for sure.

Biggest of all time? It’s been done before. So …tied at worst?

I don't know. I think Jon Jones definitely avoided fighting Aspinall for whatever reasons. So be it. But biggest duck ever? I don't know how to quantify that.

I swear some of you guys are completely unaware that Jon instead fought Vitor 3 weeks later.

Yep, most blatant duck I can remember in the UFC, it's not that common in MMA compared to boxing from what I've seen.

GDR went on fighting, Jon retired.

The fact that he has those accolades makes him the biggest duck.
