Is Jon Jones the biggest duck in UFC history?

Iron lady GDR and nicco Montano share that distinction imo

Jon may be a piece of shit as a person, but it's not the "Ultimate Humanitarian Championship" no matter how the fan base feels about it
This. Jones has a number of title fights he has been in, calling him a duck makes no sense.

I feel like the amount of title fight wins is a record that maybe nobody will ever surpass Jon on.

Also became world champ at 23 years old. That'll be a hard one to beat as well.

-Ngannou wasn't going to be let to finish out his contract with a Jones fight. That's a stupid business move by UFC and Ngannou wasn't going to take a multi fight contract, they even met him at 3 fights, but wasn't enough. I personally think old Jones beats bad knees Ngannou, but clearly it wasn't worth the UFC losing Ngannou after potentially KOing Jones and going to PFL.

-40 year old fat DC isn't some unbeatable guy. No reason to do a 3rd unless DC held the belt for awhile, which he didn't.

-He can't duck Chael when he beat him the first round, and he only had to fight him because of dumbass comments like that,

-Aspinall fight was a duck, no doubt. Jones stated he was done after Stipe, unless alot of money where it doesn't matter, the UFC matched his asking, but I guess he decided it wasn't enough to risk his record.

-USADA everyone ducked. Hell many retired when it came in. I don't know this revisionist history like everyone was clean before USADA came in, everyone's career changed after that point.

-Could say GSP ducked MW by fighting Bisping and vanishing after too. No one at the time of Bisping being champ thought he was the best MW.

No that's Cormier. Cormier was stripped of his LHW title for refusing to fight Jones a 3rd time. At the same time he thought Brock Lesnar was an appropriate defence instead, before ultimately settling on Lewis.

Everything else is just hypotheticals about possibly being afraid of a matchup that hadn't already happened. Cormier meanwhile actually had already lost 2x, including being badly KO'd cold the last time, and a press conference brawl. He's the only one who truly knew he couldn't beat Jones and would lose again if he had to to defend against him (again).

The cherry on top is after the UFC announced they were stripping him for Jones/Gus 2 the night before their fight for the new belt and his title would be stripped he pettily vacated the title himself so history would officially record he'd vacated it instead of being stripped for refusing to fight Jones

Like Jesus Christ, talk about insecurities.

Not to mention all the other fighters and times he ducked Stipe and Gus rematches, or Ngannou and Bader when they were his contenders.

He's ducked numerous fights though. This is why it makes sense because I can't even think of a high profile fighter who has ducked more fights.
Other than Aspinall and maybe Ngannou who else has he ducked? Both fights at the end of his career, a division above his own.

He surely has the biggest profile, but the biggest ducks i believe are and will be Montaño and GDR.

Did Jon want to fight DC at HW?

IMO the biggest duck ever was Nicco Montano.
got really lucky she didnt get submitted on her way to being the first UFC flyweight champ
then futzed around while Valentina was waiting as the #1 contender.
IIRC she dropped out of at least 2 training camps to prepare for Val. and then she wound up getting stripped because she kept having problems cutting weight. and then dropped out of a few fights after that.
and then she lost to Julianna Pena and never fought in the UFC again.

there was this whole documentary made about her about how she was the "first Native American champ" and just gassed her up. really looks funny in hindsight.

i wish i could turn back time and make Roxanne the first Flyweight champ. she deserved it more. was more of a fighter than Nicco ever was.

highest profile duck is obviously Jon Jones avoiding Aspinall.

All of the excuses around the Francis fight fell like a house of cards once Jon walked away from the Tom fight. A definite pattern of ducking was exposed.

The only famous ducking that rivaled this was Tito ducking Chuck allegedly because they were friends (even though Chuck denied they were such good friends). Even though he got extinguished, we can at least give Tito credit for taking the fight eventually (more than we can say for Jones).

Still pushing this? lololol.

Stop with the gymnastics. The biggest duck in UFC, didnt fight the same guy 3 times. Haahaha.

Have you been able to convince anybody of this besides your gf?

I'm not DC who quite literally said I can't fight Jon Jones on December 29 as I'm "injured" but can fight Brock Lesnar a week later or Derrick Lewis a month earlier.

DC blatantly ducked the hell out of the Jones trilogy fight.

this is the only one that even comes close (apart from GDR and she gets a pass because ducking test-tube cyborg was actually a good idea), and yeah it fails in comparison because tito did actually man up and take the fight (twice in fact).
