Is Jon Jones reach actually 7'0 ???!!

My god reach is measured fingertip to fingertip and no ones mentioned eyepoking yet? Sorry I can't support this thread. Out.

I wouldn't be surprised if some guys give shorter reach and height to surprise their opponent
Yea, I don't think the UFC officially takes your height and reach measurements, similar to when you renew or get a license.

Anderson Silva was once 5'11

Chuck Liddells reach is closer to 79-80"

Ortiz is closer to 6'3. But thats all head.

Jesus Christ. I remeber people/commentators banging on about him but didn't realise this:

Guy can fight every week. Doesnt cut weight, doesn't get hit, doesn't need to train cardio

I saw his last fight, he moves freakishly fast and smooth for a big dude.
He only started top level MMA training in 2022. He's exciting, but he's 35. Would be a whole lot more exciting if he were ten+ years younger. I also wonder how he'll fare against a mid or better tier grappler. If he can't stand up to that he won't go anywhere.

Speaking of big reaches, until not too long ago (2019) there was a boxer fighting who was 7'1" with a 90" reach - the appropriately-named Julius Long. He wasn't very good though:

Just for knowledge the average persons reach is typically the same as their height.

For women I think due to narrower shoulders. For men it's typically 2 inches higher.

Yep. He could literally eye poke 2 people standing 6'10" apart at the same time
