These kind of personality disorders are mostly bullshit with no real basis in medical science, yes people's brains are wired differently but not to the extent where we can put people into neat little categories based of a brain scan.

Its even more retarded to try and analyse a guy you've never met. If I had to make a judgement about Jones, he probably as a slightly lower IQ given how often he does dumb shit. Could be wrong though.
He conducts himself very intelligently in interviews and has quick comebacks and knows how to fool most of Sherdog fans, that’s not the signs of low IQ. The signs of low IQ are all in the actions of the platinum

Idk brah, Jon has a lot of characteristics these guys do lol

I still marvel at the amount of POWERFUL ignorance in this thread

Since Daniel Cormier recently said he believes so, I wanted to ask Sherdog and see what Sherdog's opinion on the matter is.

A psychopath is generally considered to be someone who suffers from one of the psychopathic (cluster-b) personality disorders which are Antisocial Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder.

All three disorders have the "lack of empathy" symptom, which is why they are considered psychopathic/sociopathic.

Hundreds of thousands of people have these disorders, it doesn't make them killers. Serial killers and violent offenders only make up a small percentage of these people. But most psychopaths, although don't have empathy, still wouldn't kill someone obviously.

All psychopaths have a much higher IQ than the average person but usually don't put it to use.
However, if we compare to serial killers,

- Most serial killers have antisocial personality disorder.
- Certain cases they may have the other two. Some major examples are Ted Bundy (Narcissistic Personality) and Jeffrey Dahmer (Borderline Personality).
- Its possible to have more than one. Serial killer, Andrei Chikatilo was diagnosed with ALL THREE psychopathic disorders.

Jones seems somewhat of a Narcissist. I would guess NPD with Borderline traits. His self destructive behavior, reckless acts, damaging acts, prone to violence, prone to angry, short fuse, etc. Classic NPD / Borderline Personality.

I’d say a decent amount of extremely successful people exhibit some signs of sociopathy...

Believe there has been studies on CEO-types across the world/US in the past that showed many of them had sociopathic behaviors...

You have to be a ruthless cunt in many cases to make it to that level of sports or business.. People that have sociopathic /psychopathic traits use them to do some of the stuff necessary to make it in such cutthroat industries...

Again, not all... And even really good people might have one or two traits that are similar to a sociopaths that have enabled them to get where they are at on the corporate/sports food chain..

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if ol Jonny Bones Jones has some legitimate traits of a sociopath/narcissists/etc....

The APA's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fourth edition, text revision (DSM IV-TR) defines antisocial personality disorder as:[40]

A) A pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others, occurring since age 15 years, as indicated by three or more of the following:
  1. failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest;
  2. deception, as indicated by repeatedly lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure;
  3. impulsivity or failure to plan ahead;
  4. irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults;
  5. reckless disregard for safety of self or others;
  6. consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations;
  7. lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.
B) The individual is at least 18 years old.
C) There is evidence of conduct disorder with onset before age 15 years.
D) The occurrence of antisocial behavior is not exclusively during the course of schizophrenia or a manic episode.

Dead on. Society psychologizes WAY too much. Jones has zero charm except to a handful of people who like to play victim/shitstir on forums (usually in racial form) via being a Jones fan.

Not everyone that is unlikeable is a psychopath. Those two words (psychopath/sociopath) get overused more than anything, and I think this is an exclusively American thing to be honest.

I think many people exhibit one or some personality traits of sociopaths and narcissists... And when you have to deal with these people on a regular basis - Weather it be a family member, significant other or an authority figure/colleague at work... The impact of what they do is felt at a greater level... Making their experience very real and the consequences of having to be around this person very real and traumatic...

So sure, I would agree many of the people in question aren’t actual sociopaths or narcissists... Their behavior and actions are extremely destructive and distressful to the people around them and or the person it’s directed at.... Especially if a person hasn’t dealt with someone like this before... The experience can be even more traumatic and that persons description of the person amplified..

I have dealt with 2 people in my life that for sure have personality traits of both a sociopath and narcissists..

“Sociopath” was in my career life.

“Narcissists” in my family life.

Do i think they are both actually those things, no... But they both have traits that register on many indicators for both.... And I can tell you, even just having a couple traits of these personality disorders, can create a very dysfunctional/toxic/disturbing person and environment...

Possibly. Probably.

But I will say his fans have always reminded me of democrat voters in the US.

Could not care less how much a lying, cheating, corrupt pos they are (he is).

Just want him to win no matter what.

The better question is whether Dana is playing with a full deck babying him.

No he’s successful black man ... apparently that’s frowned upon in 2018

I do not think he is a sociopath.
What I think is that he has very low impulse control, worsened by substance abuse.
I think that a drunk or drugged Jon Jones is capable of anything, no matter how reckless or dangerous.
The better question is why has not gotten help for his clear addiction to alcohol & hardcore partying.

Such Athletes with low impulse control & alcohol problems, will always go bonkers in a period of inactivity such as that which JJ just experienced.
You don't want a man like JJ to sit on a couch with time on his hands, and money to blow.
Which is exactly what happened.

EDIT: Wtf 2016 thread...

Psychopathic traits are on a spectrum, and everyone has some degree of psychopathy, narcissism to their personality. Jon seems to have heightened psychopathic and narcissistic traits. He has low impulse control, low empathy, repeated criminality, some degree of superficial charm, manipulative behavior, elevated sense of self importance. All of these could be exacerbated by substance use issues.

It's hard to keep the narrative straight because one group of people says he's uncaring and doesn't feel anything while the other group says he's afraid of everything and feels insecure.
