Is it true that Du Plessis was a better kickboxer than Adesanya?

I'll always have respect for Whittaker, but I have a feeling its only going to get harder for him sir.
Such a good dude. Was expecting du Plessis to win and was really happy for du Plessis but man, seeing Whittaker like that really broke my heart.

Yeah I watched him since right after his TUF season.
It's been a long road, and a hard road, but he never gave up on himself.

He accomplished more than most and has always been tough as fuck... can't hate that.
It did hurt me watching that punch land, as I knew that was the end, and I hung my head.

My homeboy was gloating but I do it to him so fair is fair lol.

Well shit..

This doesn't happen often but beating whittaker actually means something.. sherdog starts reevaluating a fighter..

DDP is kind of a tank, so he can follow the Gastelum plan. Vettori had the durability, but just not the skill to follow through.

Vettori and Du Plessis are similar but it seems Du Plessis has more skills.
Both very stiff though.

The thing with Vettori though is once you start catching him coming inside, he sort of mentally checks out and won't adjust his gameplan or continue going for it, he's content to lose the fight by decision. DDP has that crazy approach where he'll have to be put out to get him to stop.

Wouldn't doubt it honestly. People have to remember, DDP just got his breathing issues solved. That means he fought in combat sports like Rory MacDonald fought Lawler in the Championship Rounds, strictly just breathing through his mouth only. That's un freaking real.

I see DDP beating Izzy anyway he wants honestly. I know people may give me shit for that, but idc. DDP is a different breed, he's not Costa, he's not Cannonier, he's not Marvin, he's not Romero... He's just different. I could easily see him Finishing Izzy with strikes or finishing Izzy by Sub.
The guy can grapple and he’s big and strong. Izzy cannot. I do think he’s going to get lured into a standup fight with Izzy and Izzy takes it but I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if ddp wins.

That was an amateur youth medal when Dricus was 17 years old.

Izzy was a world champion kickboxer in Glory. Much, much higher level. The credentials aren't comparable at all. This thread really doesn't make any sense.

Yeah that's definitely a skill that Du Plessis has.
His unwavering determination to grt inside is impressive to be honest.

Dricus fought at a lower level in kickboxing but he moved on to MMA because there was very little money in kickboxing. His base in martial arts is actually Judo. He actually is quite a good finisher. 30 TKO/knockouts in 33 kickboxing fights. 20 finishes in 22 MMA fights not including his amateur MMA fights.

Izzy was never a world champion in glory.

I feel like DDP is going to run into izzys strikes but I also thought the same about the Whittaker fight. Think I'd rather see DDP win at this point, izzy is entertaining sometimes but is cringey often.

Huge if true.

he also didn’t lose to Alex P in kickboxing. Explains why Alex blotted to LHW
