Nukes lead to young men dying by the millions in giant regional and even world wars to skirmishes and proxy wars here and there. Nuclear proliferation would basically lead to no more war on any significant scale. Of course there are risks, but this means the risk isn't being shouldered exclusively by men in their late teens and 20s who are forced to become slaves and are subjected to all kinds of human rights violations, the most obvious being a potential brutal death, usually against their wills. If this happens, now we all have skin in the game. Our 'leaders' won't act like fucking retards knowing that they'd be in jeopardy as well. Citizens would have to pay attention to their politicians and their actions because some rich asshole wouldn't be able to rely on some 19 year kid to fight his battle for him with no direct consequences when the potential for some nuke to be lobbed on his head exists.

yeah, only problem to that is that, like in the case of "too many guns", there's going to be accidents. you really want a world where the accidental nuke strike is amplified for every state getting one? cause you can't reset the world after one of those.

The way i look at it.

Nukes have only ever been used once in conflict... that was when only one nation had them.

When 2 nations had them... it was a arms race. Most testing and nuking than at any other time, all around the world.

Once 4 nations had them... the arms race slowed ....

Once 8 had them ... testing and development was banned.

Maybe with 10 they'll start demolishing them? [ unlikely i know ]

Usa and russia have 90% of the worlds stockpiles. Only you two can end the world anyhow.
