Is it more or less impressive that Arman has accomplished what he has considering his background?

From what I understand, his uncle is Gagik tsarukyan, one of the richest men in all of Armenia, and quite a shady figure. Give him a google sometime.
No, they're not related. His father owns construction company in Russia.

That's super weird, because I was looking at that guys wiki a few days ago and it said he was the uncle of Arman Tsarukyan. Now, that bit is gone from his wiki page.

Hardwork talent and hunger are all the most important. It varies by person you can have every resource in the world and be lazy. You could have no shoes and be motivated.

I definitely think there is no real answer. One of those strange things about being human that is hard to understand, but it's all desire.

Is it a massive company or is the rich kid thing overblown?
There is no way to evaluate their wealth through open sources. In case of Russia they're definitely in the 1%, so yeah, rich, but not son of the billionaire.
Are you sure they're not related? Gagik has his hands involved in a lot of construction too and has ties with Russia.
I can't link any proofs but if it was the case it would have been known 100%, that oligarch has big presence in media.
I also vaguely remember Arman being asked that question and him denying the connection.
Anyway, his family comes from village in Georgia and Gagik's roots are in Armenia which is a big indication that they aren't related (due to historic reasons) even if sharing surname which is quite common one.

Of course it's an advantage. The more resources you have, the easier everything is

Arman's father moved to Russia to start his construction business which was actually a money laundering front for his uncle Gagik Tsarukyan (really, look up the story about him and what he's gotten up to).

Just speculation here of course.

MMA does have higher barriers to entry in order to succeed. It takes time and resources to train in wrestling, striking, grappling. In Dagestan, they are not cash-rich but are extremely resource wealthy in having people and institutions that offer elite training that is accessible. In places that are not resource wealthy like this one needs to be independently wealthy to fund the training and time to succeed. That and obviously talent, genetics, luck and perseverance.

At least in boxing, the technical training is not nearly as rigorous (although mastery is just as intensive) and far less expensive.
