Is it better to cook a steak on a stovetop or in the oven?

I know grilling is the best option but sometimes I don’t have the time to bust out the grill. I always thought cooking steak in a pan on a stovetop was ghetto, but after watching videos on YouTube about pan searing, it surprisingly looks amazingly delicious, maybe even more so than grilling.

Sear it in the pan and finish with a few mins in the oven.

Cooking a steak solely in an oven?

Fucking savage.

Stove (and then oven but only if it's chunky).

I've never had a steak in the stove, but absolutley nothing wrong with a steak cooked in the pan.
Just gotta know how to cook and season

Good lord that looks good.

Anyway, oven or stove, steak cooked bloody is better than most anything. I still sometimes brown hamburger on the stove and eat it like so or maybe throw A-1 on it. It’s so freakin good.

Very simple ,,,put salt and pepper on your steak,,sear it in a hot THICK pan ,3 minutes on each side ONLY,,unless its a thick steak or you like it more well cooked.

And don't you dare stick the steak in the oven.

Oven, after you leave it in wine, salt, pepper for a while.
Oven + stove, if you have the time or patience.
I don't understand why some people consider grilling better than oven.
Juices vs dry shit!

10 minutes in a microwave followed by a nice lathering of ketchup.

Everything pales in comparison. Except lechon, of course.

If the cut is not thick, then pan searing is all you need. If it is a thick cut then you need to oven it to get the desired result. Though I prefer convectional oven because the steak surface will be more crispy.

I’ve been reverse searing and then finishing it in the broiler lately. Tastes unreal.

Stove AND oven is the best way to cook a steak. Grilling is overrated and dry as fuck.

Broiler works too.

Reverse sear. I smoke with cherry wood until the internal temp reaches 115 degrees, then sear as hot as possible for a minute on each side. Pan fried is great too, especially for marbled cuts.

Get a Sous Vide. It's the best way to cook it period.

The only reason for anyone to cook a steak in the oven is if they don't know how to cook one properly on the stove top or grill. Cooking goes a lot slower in the oven, so there's less chance of over cooking. But that's the ONLY reason, it certainly doesn't do anything for the flavor. Same for sous vide, it just helps those that can't judge when to pull from the heat. But who the fuck wants to spend 2 hours cooking a steak.
