Note that all of right wing budget proposals increase the size of the military budget. I'm not sure how they can support that and claim they are small government.

Obama supports a stronger safety net and believes that income inequality is a problem that we need to face, as do most Democrats. There is nothing extreme at all there.

Health care is not government run, where do you get this shit? A truly liberal health care system would be a single payer, not what we have. In fact, if you go back a bit, Republicans actually supported the very system we call Obamacare. Romney implemented it on a state level in Massachusetts. It's hardly an extreme left wing idea.

Only right wingers identify Obama as liberal or extreme left wing. It's silly. Every liberal will tell you Obama is right of them and is very moderate.

The safety net refers to government programs that help poor folks. It has nothing to do with military spending. Anyway, the point was that conservatives claim to be small government and fiscally responsible. Remember all of the panic over spending and debt? Yet, they want to increase military spending. I am not providing an opinion on whether it is right or not, I am saying they are full of shit when they talk about small government. It is really just a difference of opinion on what the money should be spent on.

And yes, military spending is bloated and should be cut, IMO, certainly not increased. I think our budget is equal to the next 15 countries combined, or whatever.

I've been in the E.U. continuously for just under 2 months now, and I can honestly tell you that, despite the fact that some wanker got arrested for a racist tweet, it's been delightful. I think the two party system flat out is destroying the U.S. It is no longer working. With big money being able to influence elections thanks to the USSC ruling, this is becoming an utter chaos.
