yeah cte and humiliation dont mix well--ask diego sanchez--you think them both turning gay with their trainers is a coincidence???
There’s just a long list of combat athletes who were never the same after a particular loss or another. Fighting is mostly mental, you’re honestly a moron for just discounting the mental aspect and pretending you’re so smart. These guys are just all men, all men have mental frailties so it’s a fair question to ask. It's a long list of fighters who have had that happen to them at one time or the other and many of them bounce back just fine. MMA fans are just by and large pretty damn dumb and love to cling to cliches

Asking whether Gaethje is mentally shook by the loss is not “assuming” that the loss is going to completely derail him. That’s why it was a question and not a statement. You just inserted your own interpretation to what was a legit and fair question and decided to get on your high horse and call others idiots. Read more carefully next time before you get high and mighty.I'm not discounting it. I'm just saying that fighters bounce back from loses all the time. Gaethje has already done it twice. Assuming this loss is going to completely derail him is the idiotic assumption in this situation, particularly since the guy who handed him that L just retired. The boogeyman is gone.
We'll have to see how Gaethje bounces back. Assuming to know that answer is dumb.
No, because he's publicly anouncing who he wants to fight next all the time still, like: https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/ufc/justin-gaethje-thinks-conor-mcgregor-23199577I've noticed that his very few media appearances since 254 he doesn't seem all there to me. Seems a bit run down and demoralized. I don't remember seeing him like that after the losses to Poirier and Alvarez, maybe because they were both close blood and guts fights that he did very well in. Almost seems like he's a bit ashamed of his performance against Khabib.
Then the news comes out that Chandler is fighting Hooker. Did the UFC offer the fight to Gaethje? And if so, why did he turn it down? Could it be that his confidence has been shaken and he needs more time?
I believe he is. I thought he was laying low adjusting to live as a millionaire, but his mom is still working and not retired and didn't indicated he was going through major changes.I've noticed that his very few media appearances since 254 he doesn't seem all there to me. I think skillset wise, justin will beat him. However, mentally, oliveira is in a better mental space. He has confidence. Gaethje is hiding. He's only shown his face once iirc and that's to do interviews with Helen Yee and Schmo.Do you guys think Oliveria would dominate Justin like Khabib did?
I don't think those two losses weighed the same as khabib loss. In the eddie loss, he was smiling and saying he doesn't care if he wins or lose.I'm not discounting it. What the fuck are you on about? I just asked a question. Justin has been in hiding for 2 straight months and he seemed checked out in the 2 interviews he’s had.No, because he's publicly anouncing who he wants to fight next all the time still, like: https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/ufc/justin-gaethje-thinks-conor-mcgregor-23199577
Don't know what other media whatever you want, it's not like we had a Trumanshow of justin all year.
Though the narrative you created in your head is so imprinted nobody will be able to convince you otherwise.
These guys fight a couple times a year, we rarely see them as it is. live with it, you chose a shit sport to follow.
Its not only him. Its his coach too. His coach has been hiding in plain sight. His coach is all over UFC broadcasting but have not yet answered any questions about the fight. They were all over rogan talking about justin's secret weapon, the wrestling and no where to be found. What the fuck are you on about? I just asked a question. Exactly. The thing I can’t stand about MMA fans is the constant simping to fighters. The second you question any fighter you have idiots on Sherdog and Twitter white knighting for them. It’s embarrassing. Like Gaethje is somehow immune to being mentally shook by a devastating loss? Its not only him. Its his coach too. His coach has been hiding in plain sight. To Kavanaugh(Conor's Head Coach) and Mike Brown(poirier's head coach) they went on podcasts to answer what went left in the fight against khabib for their fighters. Wittman who received a lot of praise is still hiding in plain sight. The whole team is shook by that loss. I can't blame them.

Khabib is different. We'll know more about Justin's mental health the next time he fights. I wish him the best. If he is super depressed about it, It sucks but Khabib has done that to everyone not just him so he shouldn't feel too down, but I get where he's coming from, flew all the way across the world with his parents to have his ass choked out on national/international tv. That's embarrassing. Again, I'm not harping on that guy, just putting myself in his shoes. He said he's been working for this since 4 years old, working towards a goal of being the best at something and for the realization that you are not the best and you didn't have any success really could fuck with your head.If he didn't got broke when dustin and Eddie beat him..
Justin is very tough mentally.
