They both have underrated striking but Emelianenko's seemed better to me. I doubt he could submit Cormier from the bottom but he could take it standing.
I'd have to say Cormier probably has some advantage in wrestling.

Prime Fedor had extremely strong and flexible hips. He could reverse positions or threaten with a sub in a flash. Just ask Big Nog and Mark Coleman. I think DC can take him down, but holding him there for 3 Pride rounds/5 UFC rounds is not happening.

Plus I think this might be a rare case where Fedor has the reach advantage. Fedor's standup around the Cro Cop fight was incredible. I would lean 70-30 for Fedor if it was a prime vs prime fight

Coleman and Randleman were both able to take Fedor down, so I bet DC could do the same.

Once down, though, the flight would be different. DC's fight IQ and sub defense was better than those 2, so I think he actually holds Fedor down and wears him out like Bigfoot did.

However, I think Fedor's striking was way better, and fast/effective enough to overcome guys with a much longer reach, and DC has a shorter reach than Fedor which gives Fedor an even bigger advantage. So there's a very good chance that Fedor catches him standing too.
