Interested to get the wider opinion on this one.
I personally had the P4P rankings like this in my head just a few months ago:
Rankings a while back:
1.) Jones
2.) Werdum
3.) Cormier
4.) Johnson
5.) Cruz
But, since Johnson's demolishing of Cejudo, Werdum's idiotic loss to Miocic, Rockhold's sham of a performance against Bisping and Cruz's domination over Faber I've rejigged my rankings a little.
My current rankings:
1.) Jones
2.) Cormier
3.) Cruz
4.) Johnson
5.) Lawler
I personally think there is little to no argument that Cruz or Johnson have had a tougher schedule than Cormier. There is also the small asterisk in a lack of activity for Cruz over the last few years, which has him slightly below DC in my humble opinion.
With a victory, does Cormier rise above Jones to become the number one fighter on planet earth?
My vote is, yes!
