Is DC ducking?

So DC wins the heavyweight title, and instead of fefending against Blaydes, or Volkov, or rematching Stipe, he wants to fight a 40 year old who hasn't won a fight in 8 years, and who was literally humiliated and exposed in his last two fights where he wasn't roided to the gills.

That by itself I can understand. Brock, even though he's not a serious mixed martial artist, is a huge draw for the drooling idiot masses, and means a big payday for DC. But, as if that weren't enough, he then announces that he will defend his light heavyweight belt before fighting Brock. And who does he want to defend against? Gus, who is the number one contender, has beaten virtually everyone who is not Jones, or DC and who had very close competitive fights with those two as well, and actually won them in some people's eyes? No, Not Gus. Jones who wrecked him twice, and who is considered by many to be the goat? No not him either. He wants to fight Shogun, an aging, way past his prime fighter, with blown out knees.

It's honestly starting to seem that all DC is looking for is a couple of gimme fights before he retires. And doesn't mind if he screws over guys like blaydes, Gus and volkov.

Jesus..after have fought everyone in the LHW division , raped everyone there but Jon "Royded" jones and then gone up to take on one of the best HWeights of all time to take his title , the fucking guy has the right of doing all the ducking he wants. GTFO.

You're only getting this now. DC said as much. He's ready to retire and wants a big payday. Its isnt rocket science.

He never fights and he has beat two guys in a row since his losses. Basically everyone in the top 5 has accomplished that.

He hasn't fought in the last year, because he assumed, as did everyone that he was getting the next shot. He has wins over the currently ranked 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 8th fighters.

And let's not forget that DC only beat him by a split decision in an extremely close fight that many thought he won. Even more people had Gus winning his fight against Jones. He is a very clear number one contender. Certainly a whole hell of a lot clearer than either Shogun or Lesnar.

Gus is a very clear Contender at light heavyweight. Volkov and Blaydes, are pretty obvious as well.

I can't remember the last time Gus fought.
I believe he'd be fighting NGannou if he won his last fight.

Blaydes... yeah maybe... we'll see. With how the UFC operates nowadays, CM Punk has a better shot at fighting DC than him.

Everyone wants money fights that’s the era we’re unfortunately in right now

I don't remember his fight with Gus being rape, I remembered being a very close fight and a split decision.

As I said in my previous post Gus has been waiting for the title shot. That is why he hasn't fought in the last year.

if he fights at lhw, people will say he's ducking hw

if he fights at hw, people will say he's ducking lhw
I doubt anybody will say he's ducking if he defends the belts against the top contender at LHW or HW. As of now he wants Lesnar and Shogun both those fight are what will get ppl saying he's ducking. If he drops back to 205 and fights Gus and then goes back to HW and rematches Stipe or fights Blaydes nobody will say anything negitive about that and if they do they're an idiot.

Since when wasn't he "roided to the gills"?

Cain beat him.

And Overeem had better Roids that night and all his intestines intact unlike Brock

I'd rather have Gus fight Romero for a belt on the same card with DC fighting a HW.

He’s fought like once a year for half a decade. He’s been waiting too long. Do something against your competition.

Yes he should compete, and DC should as well, that or retire. The Lesnar and Shogun fights are a joke.

Great, sounds good. Let DC vacate the lhw belt, and have Gus Romero fight for it , and let him fight a real contender at hw. But that's not what's happening.

The Lesnar fight is cleary a cash grab. DC's days are numbered and he has cemented his legacy. Anyone who doesn't set their family up for their future and instead chases a fight that won't add to his legacy when he has days left in his career is a moron. If you would do it differently, then I don't think we see eye to eye.

That being said, had this been a new champion, a guy in his prime and a guy with years left in his career, then I'm with you. But it's not. I was ok with Bisping, I was ok with GSP and I'm ok with this.

As I said multiple times now, as much as I hate and am disgusted by the Brock fight, I can understand. But then he mentions going back down to light heavyweight, and not defending against the legitimate contender. This makes his motive suspect. To me it seems to be more than about money. He seems to be protecting and padding his record, and avoiding legitimate competition. If that's the case this may actually Mar not cement his legacy in the long run.

It has nothing to do with what division he defends in. But WHO he defends against. As I said the Lesnar thing I can understand because of the money, but Shotgun?
Shogun wouldn't be my first pick, but who else is there that DC hasn't beaten?
#3)Glover - Just KO'd by Gus two fights back.
#4)Ilir Latifi - Injured and KO'd three fights back.
#5)Jan Blachowicz - Not a bad choice. Modest three fight win streak. Last loss in 2017.
#6)Jimi Manuwa - KO'd and lost a decision in last two
#7)OSP - Submitted two fights back and nearly KO'd in his last fight.
#8)Shogun - Three fight win streak. Hasn't lost since 2014.
#9)Corey Anderson - KO'd in two of his last three.
#10)Misha Cirkunov - Stopped in last two.

Hell, after typing all of that up, I actually like Blachowicz vs Shogun for Number one contender.

The Brock fight was made by the UFC, not DC. Before the HW fight even happened, they showed Brock arriving and Joe Rogan said that "Brock was gonna come to the cage and make an announcement" Do you think DC arranged for that?

You kind of missed one guy didn't you? You know Alexander Gustafsson, the guy who's beat the number 3, 5, 6 and 8 lhw. Also the guy who fought DC to a split decision, that many thought he actually won. You know there's that guy.

He’s doIng exactly what he said he was going to do before the fight.
