Maybe his camp isn't going as planned.

His plan to increase his cardio isn't going as good as he hoped.

Replaying his loss, things said on internet, potentially uncomfortable media events, etc. might be keeping him up late at night.

Might not be as mentally strong as people liked.

Any Conor nuthuggers know his family history?

This screams beginning stages of self destruction.

Edit: I'm not saying he's freaking out...

You guys talk like Conor's freaking out. This is what's happening in Dana's office right now. "Conor, please call."

He's probably realized Iceland isn't Ireland, had a crisis of self for all the shit he talked about people not training 30 meters from their mothers vaginas, and thought the only way to save face was to retire

You can freak out in silence. You can be freaking out while training too...

What happened to his "self-preservation mumbo jumbo" philosophy? Lol so glad Canner Fans have left SD forever. Good riddance

Headlines should read:

Nate Diaz retires Connor McGregor

Wouldn't call it self destruction, but a reality check. He probably started training with top tier guys and is getting wrecked and realizes he's not going to close the gap between him and Nate any time soon. Initially he put his hope in his first round performance, but he knows that only happened because of Nate's lack of camp and slow start. After the fight he begged for a rematch and now he wants out so something happened in that time. I think it's finally sinking in that he's just another good fighter in his weight class but not the world beater he thought he was. He'll be okay once he get back to his division.

No. Jesus guys.

Just relax. Too much goofy shit going on right now.

His silly rematch, an interim title fight, his say in "retiring," fedor, gsp, secret co main event of 200, etc.

Bunch of hot air right now. Let it settle.

You definitely can. But Conor's too addicted to his lifestyle. After he lost to Nate, his first social media pic was him in the backseat of one of his expensive rides, eating. Right after Holly lost the title, she posted pics of herself getting choked out again, in training immediately. Win or lose, this guy's laughing at everyone on his way to the bank. He'll be back....oh yes, he WILL....be back.

I think he might be more responsible with his money than most think. I don't buy his "rockstar" lifestyle.

The money he's made, if you invested wisely, he's set for like..

He's probably going to be back, but I don't think he's willing to entertain the thought of losing in devastation fashion in the main event of the biggest UFC event of all time.

You're fucking delusional. What does the promotion need Conor for ? To add to their immense wealth. Mcfly ???
Where is Conor picking up a $10M payday without the promotion ?

This was his mistake too. He's not bigger than the promotion. How does a person make this more clear. Tunnel vision with closed minds. That gets you wrecked in a hurry. Try closing your eyes on the road some night. Even for few seconds. See what happens.

I suggest keeping your eyes open and on the road.

Smarten up ffs.

I agree. I just personally just see the beginning stages. The first baby step. Not self destructing yet.

But to your point....

Is he mentally strong to swallow that pill and go to humble land in the #5-#10 ranked LW div. and work himself up?

Only thing I disagree on about your post is Conor was the one who not only asked for this fight, but got it under his full request. He got the event, the weight class, the opponent. So I think he is driving himself mad, trying to break his back to prepare. Rumor was that he hired a trainer to help with specializing in fighting bigger, longer-reach opponents. Dude's insanely confident in his abilities. Dana didn't make him do this.

I think he's just wanting to train to stay out of the spotlight, and Dana's wanting him to share more memorable quotes to give ammo to the media to distribute this card out to more people. Conor's taking this training more serious than he's ever taken any training camp, and Dana's trying to milk his media skills for all their worth, interfering.

I don't know how someone would beat up or be saved by a pretend character.
