Is Conor a defending champion?

I have always said this!!

He has 1 title defence!! Fuck teh haters!!

Nope, if nobody wants to give credit to DC, then Conor doesn't even come close....

Conor is a parchment paper champ.

Technically it is a title defense

Technically, it's a title defense of the interim belt, not the championship belt.

I view it as a defense since they had a belt they were fighting to defend. They were champion status even if it's interim champion. A champion is a champion
Dana created an interim belt a couple of months after Ngannou beat Stipe. Why? Because he's a four year old girl. If Gane had beat Francis and you counted that as a "title defense" then you guys are completely out to lunch.

You know what, if you're the interim champ and you beat the champ, it should count as a title defense because:

1. You're facing the best guy in the division at the time.
2. It's not your fault that you fought for an interim belt rather than the real one. The champ was unavailable to fight, but you still stepped up and fought.
3. If you lose, you're no longer the interim champ. You're not a champ at all. So you are risking your own title in this fight.

A lot of folks aren't gonna like this though because this would apply to Conor.
Well, the thing is, as soon as the cage closes on a unification bout, the Interim title ceases to exist. Brock Lesnar did not become the UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion in addition to being the UFC Heavyweight Champion after he beat Carwin. The Interim belt is not a factor anymore. Same goes if Whittaker beat Izzy the first time, or Aldo beat McGregor. You cannot win a title that does not exist.

You're not winning a title, you're unifying it.

When there's an interim champ, the other champion is no longer undisputed so the same rules apply both ways.

His fans are super fruity. I went on his twitter earlier for some other clown ass thread.

3 types of people on his twitter.

The sentimental

The "funny"

Relax man, you seem like the type who knows how to have a good time. So does Conor. A guy who is rolling in dough and eating the best meats and cheeses and drinking wine and banging broads, and oh yea winning champ-champs.

What's not to love? He's a model of success.

Many of us here would swap places with Conor in a heartbeat, myself included. I'd even give up my aisle seat to him if I ran into him on a flight.

Beating an interim does nothing extra for the champ, so no, his belt wasnt truly on the line fight night, Usman didnt took Masvidal's BMF, thats what an interim belt is, a marketing gimmick that gives them more money, Anik was right but Adesanya being Adesanya said he had more defenses.

Right off the bat, you're wrong.

Beating an interim champion unifies the titles and makes you the undisputed champion.

I still refer to all Interim Champions as Champions
Hard to say Barao never had title defenses Id say this checks out
Conor is a defending champ

Nah, defenses start once you actually have the belt not with the consolation belt/Dana's negotiating tactics belt

Your not a champion untill your introduced as the REIGNING DEFENDING UNDISPUTED ( weight class) CHAMPION in your next fight after winning the belt.

This has never happened to Conor..

Nice mental gymnastics though
