Is ChoiceCenter a cult?

My understanding of and a subsequent googling of "Cult" reveals that you arrre... NOT CORRECT IN YOUR ANSWER! *dances happily off stage*

maybe in 20-25 A.D. is was considered a cult because Judaism was the predominant Abrahamic religion (not sure if pegan religions were greater in number at that time? World wide of in the middle east) and Jesus would have certainly been viewed as a fringe personality who was the object of the warship. But if looking at the meaning of "Cult" with context, Christianity nor the Jewish or Muslim religions are cults, nor any religion.

Cult. I know you have a problem with the word because it reminds you how absurd your fairy tales are. But.....
They are cults.

"Donate to to Donald Trump" - Sean Strickland

Telling people to donate to a billionaire while spewing other fighters being in a cult is peak projection lmao
(Someone claims Trump is rich)
"Pffft he's got 4 business that went bankrupt, he doesn't have a clue what he's doing or how to manage a company, let alone, the country."
(Someone claims Trump needs donations)
"Wtf? He runs 200 companies and is a billionaire! Why would you give him money? He's been rich his whole life due to smart business practices"
Bonus round:
2016: "We can't let him get the nuclear codes! He's going to be a dictator and rule with an iron fist!"
(None of that happens)
2020, 2024: "We can't let him get the nuclear codes! He's going to be a dictator and rule with an iron fist!"

Peak clown world

To everyone getting excited in my direction:

Nothing you say here will cause 79 IQ peasants from the middle east who were starving and having fever dreams, to have told the truth. Nothing. Not only did people lie MORE the further you go back in history, it was actually expected. You call them "interpretations". I know I don't have to explain how the game of Telephone works, but somehow you think it doesn't apply to groups of people at war with each other, trying to one-up each other's myths with their own bigger, better gods. Of all the things the major religions believe- not one of those things was written down by the source. It was all one long series of campfire stories for 80 to 110 years before the Greeks, who occupied Egypt at the time, wrote it down in Greek, NOT the original Ancient Hebrew or Aramaic.
It's a joke that we even have these discussions. People should have been smart enough to realize it's all urban legends hundreds of years ago. And if that wasn't enough, you all fight amongst yourselves and breakaway to form another sect SO often, that no single group has anything close to the original texts, let alone the original eyewitness account. No tale in any holy book was witnessed by the authors. They are all 10th hand accounts, much much later. This would definitely not be admissible in court.

Guess that's why it's called faith. Because it's literally unbelievable if you choose facts, so you have to choose to ignore facts.

I don't know, it seems to be a typical pyramid scheme or ponzi scheme kind of thing?

Which makes them egotistical and schemers but it's a bit much to label it a cult.
People willing to be taken in by MLM schemes are exactly the same demographic easily sucked into cults (see: demagoguery; see Donald Trump fans buying literal dogshit he sells/promotes)

He is part of some self help group based out of Vegas. You can read some of their reviews. You can leave the cult with no issues. They do help people recognize and deal with their issues. I believe they make you do things that you aren't comfortable with and push you to "breakthrough". The last step is some sort of leadership program. It's pretty much getting you to recruit others to join the program if you felt that it helped you move forward in life.

Google ChoiceCenter. It sounds like one of those predatory rental centers.

Technically all religions are cults, so most of the world is in a cult.

Awww don't get mad guys just accept it. Cult.

After all, it's not like everyone can be right. Just one group at best, and more likely 0 groups.
Pretty much anything in life like that is also a slow moving pyramid scheme!
Just saying willing to make the subject even worse!

Commonly accepted religion would only fall under the category of a cult by someone that wants to apply the definition of cult without intellectual honesty.

Cults require the devotion or belief of something outside the commonly accepted norms of a society.

Also. Many religions do get labeled that way because of the legalism surrounding it.

If you simply enjoy a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, then the legalism isn't a factor.
Like dude in the sky that needs your subjugation and his representatives on earth who need 10% of your income? That kind of outside the commonly accepted norms of a society?

I'm agnostic, and almost athiest but not in the smug asshole athiest sense. I don't know, so I don't pick a team, I'm closest to the opinion you posted here.

My wife's parents came around for dinner the other night. Both born again Christians from some megachurch where they use NLP and music to lull huge groups into a mild state of euphoria then pass the tap and pay machine around then lock the doors on them for an hour and give them food stimulants of coffee and sugar then kick them all out to wait for their fix the next week.

We are trying for our second child. My wife has endometriosis which needs a laphroscopy to remove which will hopefully enable us to get her pregnant again.

After dinner her father asked if we could chat for half a bit. I said sure.

He dribbled shit for an hour about the reason she isn't pregnant is because we don't have a foundation which is a relationship with God, then he gave me a book called "the evidence study bible"

He said some of the dumbest shit I've ever heard. "All the answers are in the bible and it's never changed" - ummmm you are literally giving me a modified offshoot 200th revision?

I was respectful enough to not laugh in his face, as I admired the fact he thought he could win me over with what's effectively a sales pitch. I'm a key account manager for a global food company and shit talking sales pitches is what I do for a living. He genuinely thought repeating things his MLM bible study sessions would work on me.

It's a cult. Plain and simple.

Sorry for the tl/dr

Stephens and Cruz possessing a high level of emotional intelligence is peak irony. Those turds need to get their money back because they're as prickly and ugly as ever to everyone around them.

Interestingly it's run by a woman. Seems more like a money making MLM scam to enhance her pockets and the others at the top. There's probably legit self help stuff in there but also a lot of weird shit with a heavy focus on recruiting others to join and give them money. The kind of org that attracts people with weaker personalities and gets them to commit full time to the project at the expense of annoying their friends and family.
You're most likely right about the money scheme. Similar to the Nexium cult. There were women backing the money scheme with lower people using perrenialism to make sex slaves.

I just want to point out that anything that prominently features jeremy stephens is screaming "THIS IS TARGETED AT STUPID PEOPLE" right in your face as loud as humanly possible

You gotta integrate.
