is Chandler getting paid for his time

The red pantie night almost entirely resolved around the ppv buys and your contract, Cowboy said he didn’t get the red pantie night because he already in his words had a good contract,

The other factor is: was that his pay for his other fights? If he pulled 500k for gaethje, Oliveira, Dustin, and he isn't a total retard, that is house paid off, money in some investments, enough to get by if you aren't a total money flaunting idiot, which he doesn't give me the impression he is the guy in the strip club making it rain.
Yep. I'd be shocked if he made that the whole time. That (Tony) was his 4th fight in the UFC so maybe his first contract was the first three fights (Hooker/Charles/Justin). Definitely would be out of character for Dana to be paying 500k to show per fight to someone coming in (and a non-champ someone at that) from outside the UFC.

Good news is he was likely on that better contract for his Dustin loss. So probably another 500K to show if he was on the same contract as the Tony one.

The right to self determination - I think that’s what most of us would say is fair in this circumstance. He chose to pursue a fight with Conor at the expense of lesser paydays, and to date has not profited. It’s a high risk game he’s playing but it’s not stupud enough to know that. It might still end up good for him but I wouldn’t bet on it!!!
Yeah at this point I'd be quite shocked if the fight ever happens. Main question appears to be if Chandler rides this right into full-on retirement or if he at least gets a few lesser paychecks after he gives up waiting.

NOT getting paid to wait.

Because
A) Why would everyone, including Conor, talk about if it makes financial sense for him to wait
B) UFC doesn't NEED Chandler in particular

But you do get paid to coach TUF

Highly doubt it, however i wouldnt be surprised if he was entitled to compensation should the Conor fight never take place

I honestly dont know what kind of payday chandler was even expecting even if he did fight conor.

its not like he was going to get 5-10 million I dont think.

1 mill? 1.5 mill mabye.

Probably a one time use, online only, 25% off venum coupon.

According to the interwebs Chandler made $1,054,500 in his fight against Tony, which was in California making the pay info available to the public.

$500k show
$500k win
$50k KOTN
$4,500 sweet Venom coupons

Between that and endorsements, he should be able to ride out a 2 year sabbatical.

Plus he likely made at least 250k for TUF?

I would think the UFC would have to offer something close to what his standard fight purse is for doing TUF since it takes the fighter out of contention for the time being. Or it would be that he was guaranteed the Conor fight (or some compensation if the fight doesn't happen)

If Chandler has an agent worth anything, he has been taken care of in this scenario.

Besides, if you base what Conor said, 10x chandler's standard fight purse... Well that's 5 Million minimum from the fight and 10 Million on the upper end. I think it more than pays for chandler to hold out for this fight.

Honestly looking at this, Chandler is going to put on a show and if he loses, he'll retire and if he wins it could catapult him even higher.

People think you need to win the lottery to be rich, but paying off the house is attainable and a real game changer. To pay a mortgage payment of about $2500 a month, you would need to earn about $3400. If you pay off your mortgage, that's the equivalent of earning $40,000 more per year. That's big money.

If this has already been covered mods feel free to delete, but I don't see it anywhere.

I see a ton of threads about how it makes sense for Chandler to wait because he gets a bigger paycheck fighting Conor than fighting someone else.

What I don't see is any information on whether or not he is getting paid by the UFC NOW. As in... if the fight never happens (which should shock absolutely no one at this point) how much would he have made?

Is he getting paid 0 dollars in exchange for his 0 fights over the past couple years? So his income would be 0 minus the eternal training camp costs so his family would be in the hole many thousands right now and only getting worse?

Or is he getting some under the table "sympathy" pay from the UFC in exchange for him to sit on a couch and let an addict tweet about him for years on end while he doesn't compete during the last few years of his career?
He's a multimillionaire. He can afford to sit out for a while.

He's been slangin' ads. He can afford to sit out for a while fam.
