No way! He's probably the least impressive guy on fight nerds team. He went life and death with Canonier which means he isn't ever going to sniff a title shot ever

Strickland ends him, terrible matchup, he should fight the winner of Phier/Kelvin and slide into a back door shotI agree that's a nice feather in the cap and I would like to watch Strickland get koed
That's easier but if you can't beat Sean now you are getting killed by ddp.Strickland ends him, terrible matchup, he should fight the winner of Phier/Kelvin and slide into a back door shot
Caio is like a prototype for a fighter Khamzat is going to have trouble with. A very solid grappler who is physically imposing.
Lots of guys are better strikers than Khamzat, Caio certainly is, but Khamzat generally enjoys being the bigger guy. Not here.
Fight Nerds are the most interesting team in the sport right now and I'm generally interested in all of them fighting top 5 name brand opponents in the next year.
he's not as good as Burns at BJJ and lighter weight class guys tend to be more skilled in general, Whittaker was hailed as this great anti wrestler and we saw he didn't have much resistance to the grappling of chimaev so I wouldn't trust caio's grappling against chimaev eitherExactly. He has a lot of the same qualities that Burns had that gave khamzat issues, except he's FAR bigger than burns.

I don't remember his BJJ being that good in his UFC matches against notable people, I know he beat brendan allen in a grappling comp so he's good but I can still see him getting smothered on the fence. Striking is in his favour though especially if chimaev hasn't improved it at all so it can definitely be a tough match if he drags it into later rounds. He isn't as good at BJJ as burns, sure, but he's still the next best BJJ guy Khamzat would have ever faced, certainly better than Whittaker. He's also the biggest guy khamzat would have ever faced, and size matters a ton in grappling, whch is the reason why these huge ass weight cuts came from wrestling, and it's the reason why khamzat killed himself to make WW. Caio's also a better striker than burns andhas arguably better wrestling than burns to go with his good BJJ. Most importantly, he has first hand experience training with khamzat for a while, both at xtreme and in sweden. He won't be taken off guard.
If people don't see how he'd be a tough match up for Khamzat, then I don't know what they've been watching.

Caio beats Imavov in my opinion and would also be stylistically difficult for Khamzat.MW is starting to stack up with guys in line for a title shot. It's insane to me if they didn't do Izzy or Strickland rematch we could've had DDP vs Khamzat/Caio/Imavov by now. If only it was a real sports league because that's what we would've got. I'm starting to hate WWE fans.
I think Caio vs Khamzat is the real #1 MW fight, but personally I lean Khamzat.Caio beats Imavov in my opinion and would also be stylistically difficult for Khamzat.
