Is Belal the worst champion since Forrest??

Belal has been a pretty stellar fighter. It's been a long time since he lost. If JDM washes him out that's a new talk

Who else has been such an unskilled and untalented champ where they excel in no specific area of mma. Be it wrestling, bjj, (mt) kick boxing, tkd, sambo, karate and the like.

I’ve never seen a worse champ since Forrest.
I think Forrest ever being a UFC champ is embarrassing for the sport(thank headcase Bumpage for that)

Belal whats his name being champ is also embarrassing but to a lesser degree because literally no one but hardcores know who he is.

He is the grinder for sure.

Jury still out where he ranks. Im not surpirised if he wins his next 5 fights but not surprised if he loses to JDM either. Basically he always needs a maximium effort. One slip and he may be done.

I think people hate on Forrest, he wasn't a bad champ. Even when he lost the title, he was doing pretty good against Rashad until later in the fight. He was pretty well rounded as far guys at that time go.

Also Belal has plenty of skills in every aspect of fighting, maybe not a great finisher, but skills everywhere. The era of unskilled champs is gone forever, well besides WMMA.

Load of bollocks. LMFAO.

Belal Muhammad is often considered one of the least impressive champions in UFC history, mainly because all his fights end in decisions, with no finishes to his name. His style is conservative, and he’s quick to complain about opponents or situations, like after his controversial no-contest against Leon Edwards. Instead of being aggressive or exciting, Muhammad tends to coast through fights, relying on decision victories rather than dominating his opponents. His constant whining and lack of finishing ability have made fans view him more as a crybaby than a true champion, with many questioning his place in the upper echelon of UFC fighters.

Edward’s was legit never any good. Only beat belal via eye pokes the first time they faced.
Second time belal legitimately dumped him on his ugly head.
Belal is not skilled, yet shut down Edward’s in every way.
Belal is like forest and will lose on his first defence.

Forrest had the supreme advantage of having the entire UFC machine at his back and granted him a very quick and straight path to his title shot. He had media and momentum from his very first matchup.

Forrest had ranked & high profile opponents after his second UFC appearance.

Belal had to scrape and claw and was despised by the UFC. He had to earn his way to a title shot in a way no other fighter has. No matter how many fights he won, the UFC resisted matching him with contenders.

HOT TAKE: Belal is highly skilled and well rounded but people don’t like him as person so clouds their judgement of him

Why? They both earned it the right way by defeating legit contenders and champions.

This is a stupid thread that keeps popping up and people love to brag about their stupidity with such threads.

"where they excel in no specific area of mma" you say?
It's almost like MMA promotes being a jack of all trades, taking the best of each area and (dare I say it) MIXING it? :D

Sorry guys, but this was always inevitable. MMA in the 90s was so exciting because You literally had masters of one or two arts competing and they looked very distinct. Now that MMA gyms are so common, your basic MT+BJJ+wrestling mix has become the cookie cutter norm and 90% of MMA guys look the same. Guys with unorthodox styles like Machida, Wonderboy etc are now a rare gem in a world of copypasted fighters.

It is what it is.

Nah, he's way more skilled than Forrest. Infinitely more boring too though. And lets not forget Rashad Evans was a champ at one point.
