Is Askren the greatest modern era fighter to never fight in the UFC?

Obviously, Fedor is the greatest non UFC fighter ever, but from 2010 onwards, I do not think Fedor could ever have captured a UFC belt. With the recent happenings in the Bellator WW division, we are seeing just how good Askren is and how dominant he has been against guys that are very competitive with the UFC's best (Koreshkov & Lima).

IMO, if he fought Lawler during his reign, he would have beat him and could conceivably have captured a UFC title during that time. What say you, Sherbros, is he the only UFC champ quality fighter out there that never got his due shot or would he get crushed under the UFC banner?
 
Ben Askren wouldnt even be a top 5 WW, lets get that out there. He has regional level striking and anyone in the game with a good jab, footwork and decent TDD would wreck him. Lawler is his kryptonite, dont bring that nonsense in here about Askren beating him.


Woodley, Rory, Wonderboy, Lawler etc would all murk him.

ben and fedor are 2 of the biggest names ever in mma to never fight in the ufc in my opition.

Bro, in case you did not see, Rory just went life and death with Lima, proclaimed him to be the best fighter that he ever faced, and Askren breezed over him as a practical virgin. I know this place hates Askren, but the fact remains that he steamrolled some great fighters, fighters that beat some of the UFC's best or atleast competed with them very evenly.

Fedor would have definitely reigned over the UFC HW ranks for many years, and, is in my opinion the GOAT. However, Im just talking from like 2010-onwards (this decade) and I do not see anyone else having a shot at capturing the belt other than him.

Styles make fights, Lima has mediocre TDD and backs himself up against the cage. Thats death against a folkstyle wrestler like Askren.


Lima matched up better against Rory but Rory matches up better against Askren.

"Do you even Maia McDonald first round" is my response, homez. Askren has the smothering top game of Maia but does not gas.

And so, my question still remains, who would have a better shot/was a better fighter/possibile of capturing the belt from 2010-now? Lima? MVP? King MO? Minakov?

Don't forget, Rory trains at Tristar where they have a nasty tendency to respect their opponents both before and after the fight.

You ever hear GSP not say "this will be my toughest fight to date"?

that why I said yes to the question asked.

other other names that been in bellator not in the ufc are chandler and lima.

not sure if lima would been a top 5 guy but I think chandler would fought for the belt.

best woman to never fight in ufc and angela lee.
