Is anyone rooting for Colby Covington at all to win?

Being accepting of talking about people's families. Even thinking it's cool. Calling people soft if they don't like it but then crying assault when fighters then beat Colby up for talking shit.

Acting like he's some genius on the mic when he's actually this generation's Tito Ortiz. Can't get his way through a sentence without stuttering and fucking up his rehearsed lines.

Wanting a guy who has exclusively beaten 38 year olds on 2 fight losing streaks and has 0 wins over ranked fighters to win, encouraging the UFC to continue giving title shots to undeserving contenders.

Wanting a guy to be champ who they know full well will duck legit contenders and try to fight guys like Conor and Poirier once every 2 years.

Anything opposite of OldBoy is bad, anyone who thinks differently than OldBoy is thusly a loser.

Oldboy is definitely not a true American disrespecting General Washington like that.
 
Rooting for Colby just because of the hilarity that will ensue.

Let's face it, Edwards is boring.

He and Colby are both inactive fighters but at least a Colby win would light a fire in the division and opens up interesting storylines.

I love America…I don’t love Colby but he’s must watch TV at this point. I want Leon to separate him from consciousness after talking about his dead dad. If Colby wins it is what it is, he most definitely can with this match up.

It just sounds like you have a personal vendetta, Just because some one roots for a different fighter than you doesn't mean their a loser or whatever.

I think that's why colby gets these opportunities. It's exactly what's deserved. He inspired feeling and that's why he's given things he doesn't earn.

All that other stuff about talking about peoples families this and that is a complete and total non factor to me, never heard anything about it. I dont watch press conferences and embeddeds. Just fights. I'm not american so i don't care about politics. Also I've never voted in my life.

Are all people rooting for colby the same in your eyes? I just think it's a really concerning viewpoint. that's all. I dont insert my moral viewpoints into the sports I watch or the athletes I support. at the very least, I try not to. I think you like colby more than you're willing to admit. Most people do. You love to hate him. Lots do. And this is what makes him popular/marketable. It's all on you guys. he's an MMA fighter playing a wrestler heel and he's getting the results of a good heel wrestler in terms of viewership and fanfare. I feel like people like you are player hating. Its the game that's the problem.
 
Of course Colby. Say what you want about pre-fight buildup, Colby's a beast in the octagon, so much that cowardly George jumped him at a restaurant.

do you dawg, I'm not here to tell you what to think, but I think you've put your mind in a box.
I think you should admit you love colby truthfully, you love to talk about it and discuss it. the amount of energy and attention you spend on it.

If colby wins, I'm sure part of you will enjoy it. Simply for the fact you'll get to go online and express your discontent for him amongst familiar company.
 
I can't imagine his own family would even root for him at this point. P4P most boring fighter in the division, who hasn't done jack shit to deserve this title shot, and we all fucking know it.

I'm 150% all in. Here's why:

1. I'm kinda rooting for the guy as an underdog. He almost got cut, had to figure out a way to stay relevant and figured it out. People circumventing barriers in life is something I root for.

2. The MAGA schtick cracks me up. It triggers so many people without him having to do anything else and makes people so mad.

3. His awkward "scripted" routine is ironically funny because he's trying his hardest and you can tell it is not how he really is. If you've ever seen him coaching/training and see him actually speaking he isn't awkward and scripted and it's kind of jarring. It rubs so many people the wrong way I can't help but root for him.

4. The absolute fallout of him winning the title and the absolute butt hurt that will be on Sherdog afterward will be glorious to ingest.

If he doesn't win, meh, oh well. Leon is a great champion and I'm grateful he ended the Usman era of morons trying to say he was better than GSP. If Colby fades into obscurity he'll go coach and train others and live a good life. I just hope to see his trolling pay off in the most profitable way.

I'm not so sure about that. Colby controlling the distance is hard to imagine, frankly, but if he can get this fight to the cage the matchup heavily favors him. The more time they're in the center the worse it is for Colby as he is not a GSP style double legger wrestler.

Leon looked great against Usman, but let's not forget he took Usman down. Are we convinced he faced the best Usman or did he face 80% of his best Usman? Are we going to get the best Colby or is age gonna catch up to him?

I could certainly see Colby wearing Leon down for a round or two against the cage and being able to rinse and repeat.
 
I love how the majority of the poll supports Colby yet the loudest voices in this thread are the people bitching and moaning about him.

Yup love him so much I hope Leon retires him so I never have to see him and worry about him getting hurt ever again.
