Some of you guys are missing the point of the Punk experiment.
UFC is not giving Punk half a million so they can score decent one-off PPV buyrates (and actually, his first and only PPV still performed poorly, relatively speaking, and his star power was the only reason why it did 450K as opposed to 250K).
They're doing it to lure paying customers from the pro wrestling audience in, converting them into UFC fans, and have them be long-term paying customers.
You don't sell one car to a customer in a day. You build a relationship, and sell them five cars over the next fifteen years.
