i still don’t get it. Some people will justify him getting paid 250k because he’s famous and he’s bringing and revenue....but is he?

Who exactly is the targeted demographic here? At least Lesnar was
huge and could actually wrestle. CM punk has a dad bod and looked horrible in his first fight.

So...what’s the point? What kind of human is gonna pay for cm punk?! What am I missing here?

The wrasslin fans I guess, must be a lot of them to justify his spot on the main card lol.

YES! $50.00 is worth the price to see a death in the ring.

If you're buying it for CM then you a casual, if you at the bar or streaming you watching UFC 225..

But....are they?!? Why would they wanna pay to watch that dude get tossed? It makes their...sport....look bad.

The WWE PG era fans worshipped this dude like he was the stone cold Steve Austin for the WWE PG era, he still has a good bit of fans that will be willing to buy this card.

Casuals are the target audience and that is who will be buying PPV's because of CM Punk.

Like....okay guys. Lets say Robbie Lawler went into the WWE for one ppv.

But he did horrible. He stuttered every time he talked and fucked up the finisher. Or whatever the fuck WWE guys do. Would any mma fan watch that just to be like “haha look! An mma Guy! I like mma!”

I just don’t believe it. What’s going on here?!?

Why is it hard to believe he'll add a decent amount of sales? He has a lot of fans

So. Fucking. What.

Why would his fans want to see him get his ass kicked? Why would they pay for that?

You guys are going on in circles here. I know the target audience. I know WHO is supposed to be buying it for him. But ARE THEY GOING TO?? I don’t see it.

His fans aren't aware the odds aren't in his favour, they don't follow the sport like that

Why did a ton of MMA/Conor fans buy the Floyd boxing match?

People just wanna root for their side and spectate, winning or losing isn't everything to everyone.

We’ll never be able to prove this argument either way, so I’m not sure it matters. But I bet he attracts anywhere from 15%-35% more PPV buys. Possibly even more. We all know he’s going to lose, but casuals don’t have as much knowledge of the sport so they think he stands a small chance.

Thread is misleading. Most people aren't going to buy it because of CM punk, but it's still one more fight that could sway them to make the purchase altogether. If it was Romero/Whittaker and then 4 subpar fights i.e. UFC 224, thats one thing.

But Colby/RDA, Andrei, Holm ontop of that AND toss in CM punk and now you have an arguably stacked card

thinking of actually not buying it because of CM punk on PPV.

UFC will justify this by saying "there are two title fights" to make up for the fact there is an amateur bout on a PPV spot

feel bad for Whittaker and Romero because they deserve better
