Is Alexander gustafson overrated or underrated?

Underrated. People like to dismiss his fights against JBJ and DC because he lost, but we cant ignore the fact that he kicked the shit out of JBJ and almost beat DC. Having superclose fights against those two is not something that should be ignored.
 
Great fighter but just cannot beat African American MMA fighters.

He should train for how to get out from a collar tie grip before his next fight if he is wise.
 
I think this thread so far says it all, when all people can point to is two loses as an example of why you are so good, I think over rated is the right word. I'd rather say he is where he is though, its impossible to under rate him as nearly everyone agrees he is top 5, its the people who call for his rematch with Jones, etc who over rate him.
 
Underrated...... he is the only man who has a legit claim to believing he should have won against Jones. I would favour him over Comier in a rematch as well as a little bit of clinch work defence and I don't see him losing.

underrated. pretty much no one gave him a chance in either of those fights.
 
He's a really good fighter. His fights against Jones and Cormier prove that. I just hope they give him some good winnable fights in the top 10 now
 
I think he is generally properly rated. He is a top 5 guy, and I don't see many people putting him over Jones, DC, and Johnson. Gus obviously has terrific raw skills, and I would still favor him against all but those three.
I am not one of those who thought he was robbed against Jones, but I have watched the fight numerous times, and scored it for him each time 48-47. Regardless, that was one hell of a performance. And as much as I hate immediate rematches, that was one we were robbed of. Jones "picking" Glover in that spot was gross, and ended up hurting the division. I would love to see Gus pick up a few wins and some confidence, and go to war with Jones one more time. IMO, that given their age and skill, that had the makings of a terrific rivalry.
I would also love to see Gus regroup with a proper team, and refine his skills before he becomes psychologically and/or physically broken.
 
Overrated as an MMA fighter
Underrated in terms of being able to beat Jones in a rematch; which is why he barely fights in my opinion. I think a guy like Phil Davis still beats him in a rematch even though Gus has a much better chance of dethroning Jones.
 
As of now not rated at all, he needs to get a fight asap!
