I don’t see how Adesanya doesn’t run through a one dimensional striker like Jan... it’s a flat out mismatch.

I can’t think of a time where a challenger coming up in weight should be a heavy favorite other than maybe Nunes Cyborg

What do you guys think?

Nunes Cyborg

Cejudo Marlon

Conor Alvarez

DC Stipe

Poirier vs Holloway

Edit: odds courtesy of @stereolab

Adesanya (-255) vs Blachowicz (+215)
Cyborg (-230) vs Nunes (+140)
Cejudo (+105) vs Moraes (-125)
McGregor (-155) vs Alvarez (+135)
Cormier (+140) vs Miocic (-175)
Porier (+210) vs Holloway (-240)

GSP v Bisping would be another case. GSP had been retired for years but he was traditionally a WW so it'd still be him going up a class.

A one dimensional striker with 9 or 10 submission wins, i think this fight is a lot closer then many people think.

Submission wins over WHO though?

This is the same guy who made Pat Cummins and Gustafsson look like Carlson Gracie Black Belts...

You could have at least listed the odds for those fights. It would have made it a more complete thread. Plus you did omit GSP who was the actual slight betting favorite in his fight with Bisping.

People who say this havent watched all of Jan's fights and Izzy's fights.

There's a reason this feels like a mismatched to the people with educated eyes.

broski

you see this happening more n more ...

its all about the cheese and to be honest there is no sport ...

Dana said it millions if times .. We want to be biggest brand period

For reference, the odds of all those fights-
Adesanya (-255) vs Blachowicz (+215)
Cyborg (-230) vs Nunes (+140)
Cejudo (+105) vs Moraes (-125)
McGregor (-155) vs Alvarez (+135)
Cormier (+140) vs Miocic (-175)
Porier (+210) vs Holloway (-240)

It's crazy that some outlets think that Jan vs Israel is as close a fight as Porier vs Holloway, but that might just be hindsight talking.

TBH, i think Jan could win this. IMO he deserves performance of the year against Reyes( I know justin had a great fight with Tony). While Izzy deserves beatdown against Costa. Jan might not be as technical. But he has grit and power. Regardless i hope its a good fight and nothing like Izzys Yoel and Costa fights. I also hope if Izzy wins in leads to him vs Jones.

Just curious if the Stipe vs Cormier odds was from the first fight? Kinda wild all the people moving up were dogs and won their fights in devastating fashion(except Max but he did put on one hell of a fight) .

Yeah, tho I accidentally combined two different odds should be Cormier +140 vs Miocic -160.

For some reason I remember Cormier being a massive underdog, thought he would be like +200 at least

I don't get the Gustaffson thing, he's always been a fantastic wrestler despite coming from a boxing background.

He's only ever used his offensive grappling against Jan, Te Huna, and Diabaté. They're not very good ground fighters.

Tight crisp boxing, decent kicks, Big Power (especially his left hook), decent wrestling and grappling.

Unfortunately, this will look like romero vs izzy - a staring contest with izzy pulling out a Dec (probably split) via leg kicks and a bit more activity.
