Is 265 lbs weight limit right thing? Or UFC should get rid of it & make openweight category?

Isn't it unfair to the 300+ lbs heavyweights?

The real question is whether prohibiting heavyweights from using PEDs is the correct thing. I'm sick of seeing obese heavyweights who are incapable of throwing more than 10 punches per round without gassing out.

Another thread that has been made a hundred times over the years. The answer, time and time again, is that the talent pool isn't big enough. Any guys who are that big, and fast and tough, etc., are going to play football, etc., for more money. MMA gets the rejects from the rest of the talent pool. I look forward to reading your next topic: "Would Brock beat Fedor," etc. Or did you already make that one? I forget.

Not sure why Brock is there. He's never been over 300lb as far as I know. The wrasslin always billed him as 295 back in his youth, and they normally pad that.

Brock weighted 300+ lbs in his earlier pro-wrestling years before coming to MMA.

It's pointless, but on the other hand amount of guys who actually have trouble making 265 pounds while in serious MMA shape is very small, so it doesn't matter that much.

AFAIR Sean McCorkle was one dude in UFC who actually struggled.

A lot of the HWs already look like LHWs with bad diet and bad workout ethics. The occasional SHW fight sounds fun. Making it an entire division might look pathetic.

We have enough unathletic heavyweights guys we don’t need more.

There’s like only 10 guys in that division that don’t gas after round 1.

I wonder why he was never billed above 295lb ever. They normally add a few lbs if anything
I dont know if brock was ever 300lbs (i doubt it since he's bigger now and probably still not 300lbs. he made 265 vs hunt pretty easily) but wwe might reserve the 300lb+ billing for their super heavyweights to make them sound more impressive. Could be why they would do that. They always say their huge guys are over 300 pounds

Imagine how greasy and fat the assassins in the Heavyweight Division will become if they ever find out that they can visit Burger King, Chipotle, Baskin-Robbins, Taco Bell, and every other place as many times as they want.

HHJ, what do you think about this thread? Do you still have the same opinion that you had years ago?

UFC should bring in a Super HW division.

There is absolutely no reason to have a 265 limit. It actually takes away from "baddest man on the planet" moniker. There is a lame argument that they would all be fatties. This is just plain stupid. The fatso's that could potentially enter would not even make the top 30. Its a crime that guys like lesnar have to cut weight. And a travesty that some athletes out there cannot compete.

If they're going to do that then it makes sense to have a category that's like 235lbs or 245lbs. Somewhere where the lighter quicker heavyweights like Stipe and Cain could compete without having to fight 400lb sumo guys that would just sit on them.

How does this logic work. These fatsos would get worked and never even make the ufc. Cormier would obliterate any shw fatso.
