comics were great but this show sucks

? The show is nearly the same as the comics so far. The comics could already serve as a story board for most of the show. Anymore similar and it'd just be an exact carbon copy. There is some minor/trivial character changes/swaps (a few I guess might be licensing related). Some of the chronology of events is also adjusted, some of which is likely to better fill out the first season content wise.

- As soon as I saw what was left of The Immortal literally raining down on the field, I knew this episode was going to knock it right out of the park:cool:

- The first twenty minutes or so were fucking incredible. As I said, the Evil Superman Trope is hardly new, but it's rarely been done so effectively. It perfectly demonstrated just how terrifying a being anywhere near Superman's power level would be in real life. Mother of God, that train scene...

The opening section was so brutal I was actually glad they slowed things down in the last third or so.

- So the Viltrumites basically went Full Purge until only the strongest half of their society was left alive? Thanos approves this lifestyle choice;)

- JK bringing the heat as always. He was absolutely chilling in some scenes. Telling his own son that his mother was, "more like a pet to me"? Even to a guy like me, that's cold.

- Nick Fury wants to be Cecil when he grows up:) Love the scene where he shows Mark the weapons lab, which not even Mark can see because the chemicals in American's tap water make them unable to see certain spectrums of light.

All in all, a great end to a great show. 9/10. Bring on season 2:cool:

Humans are like fucking Ants to Omni-man.

JK Simmons elevates the scenes , I'm a bit distracted whenever Allen the Alien makes an appearance because I hear Seth Rogans fucking annoying voice.

This was a excellent capper on a solid season, they cut out a lot of different parts on the Comic and the episodes feel well packed with material , the only one I disliked was episode 6.

Seasons 2 and 3 should be excellent wonder if that is enough to cover the Invincible War and Viltrumite war arcs.

One thing that surprised me: since Omni-Man is Evil Superman, I'd expect him to have some kind of Heat Vision. Of course, with his strength, speed and durability he doesn't really need it. But I kept expecting him to cut people in half with his laser vision.

Even though they are comparable to Kryptonians they are more like a Western Version of Dragon Balls Saiyans in that they Travel and Conquer , way more advanced than Saiyans too. Omni-man is very old so he has hundreds of years battle experience on his son and his race gets stronger through the years as well.

Incredible season. That was a brutal episode.

The, "clink" when Nolan punches Mark's teeth out and they land on the mountainside made me wince. Yeah, he's done much, much worse to humans, but the fact he's beating his own son nearly to death is tough to watch.

He doesn't initially want to admit it , but Humanity has gotten to him. He tries to be pragmatic about how they will out live their loved ones but it gets to him when Mark says he will still have him in 500 years and now Omni-Man has failed his mission , or we shall see.

I read the comic. Is this a worthy adaptation?

I think so , but be prepared for it being vastly different from the Comic book timeliness which is good because now you wonder what they will adapt and how they structure their Season. Episode 1 sets the tone if you don't like it you might not like the rest of it.

I don't mind Rogen since his voice fits Allen's personality for me.

Initially I really did not like Walton Goggins voicing Cecil because the voice and the face just didn't fit but I've gotten used to it after the 4th episode.

I fucking love this show. I was afraid it was gonna be woke, but it's not that bad. It's funny though that his girlfriend who is into feminism and "progressive" stuff, is a stereotypical angry/aggressive black female.

The final episode was like a horror show. Tough to watch. But a fantastic way to end season one.
Looks like it pulled off the evil superman idea better than anywhere else I have seen it tried before. Amazing writing. I even enjoyed most of the subplots. That robot hero was awesome.

Also the fight seen where Rexplode says something like "you all messed up bad" was great because I dont even like him but the way they all rally together was an awesome moment.
