Davinci Resolve is free, and it's a very professional piece of software. It was literally built for Hollywood. It does have a paid upgrade with stuff you don't really need. I only use the free version, which is highly functional.
Using Davinci Resolve (or After Effects) will give you things that you simply could not do in Photoshop.
For example, I can track a head with the automatic tracker in Davinci resolve, and then use the tracking data to put a different head on the body.
In Photoshop, you would have to manually move the new head frame-by-frame. So In Davinci Resolve I could do something in two minutes, that would take be 30 minutes in photoshop (for example).
But I think it's good to start in Photoshop, seeing as though you already know how to use Photoshop.

I'll have to try it, then. The software being free is a huge plus for me, since I won't lose anything by trying it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

It's all good brother and I'm in no way disheartened in fact I'm the opposite. I'm always inspired by you guys to make good stuff and keep getting better and the level is going to jump again soon I can see it. Iron sharpens iron and we can all vibe of each other and take the shoops to another level together.

You, Reach, kuf, MT7, have all brought new energy to the scene and it's awesome. Then we have the regs who have been killing it for years and people like @BonyAcaiNogueiraBrothers stepping into the mix and killing gifs, and everyone's favourite shooper SenorFranko who never stops with the shoops and awesome vibes.

It's up to us to make the awesome content and have fun and that will bring more people into the scene.
Good to hear you're happy with it all mate. I'm good with it too. All I really care about is that the other shoopers see my shoops, and also anyone else that likes the shoop scene, so it's all good with me. It's all gravy bro.

Good one, man. I tried Davinci Resolve many years ago for doing compilations of footage I shot with my DSLR camera, and my computer at the time would not handle it (even though at the time my computer was quite high-end). But when I came across this shoop scene about 10 months ago, I thought I would try Davinci Resolve again. The computer I have now handles it with ease, and I think all the modern computers are powerful enough, as long as you have a decent amount of RAM.

Here's a link showing the system requirements (for Mac, Windows 10 & Linux) your computer should have to be able to run Davinci Resolve, but you can just try it and see if it works...

I would definitely start by learning frame by frame bud. It's the best way to learn what is going on and although having a tracker is awesome they don't always work and you don't always get the results you want so you will have to go frame by frame.

Once you get used to that though then using a tracker can make short work of stuff that would take a while to do frame by frame. Learning it that way first really helps you understand what is going on when making gifs though.

If you do go the way of DaVinci Resolve though just know that you cannot make an actual .gif file in it so you will still need to use PS to make the actual gif or you can download GIMP which is free and do it in there.

Arqueto is 100% spot on here. You can use an online mp4-to-gif converter, but they have size-limitations. In this last competition Arqueto converted my mp4 export file into a good quality gif because the online converter was scaling the size down too much (as with my shoop in the round 1 contest). but for shorter gifs the online mp4-to-GIF converters are fine.
I've now got a piece of software called "Filmora' which can create high quality gifs from mp4 files, but I did pay for filmora.

But there's no way I could make all the gifs I do without Davinci Resolve or After Effects. I wouldn't have the time and it would completely wear out my hands with so much clicking.

By the way @Arqueto I'm still having to use my left hand on the mouse, but my right hand does not hurt any more ever since doing the fasting. But I don't want to start using it with the mouse yet in case it aggravates it and puts me back to square one. The hand joints are still clicking quite a bit, but not as much as they were.

@caketime21 @Arqueto thanks for the tips, guys. Looks like my laptop's specs should be enough. I'll give it a shot and see if I like it. Worst case scenario if I don't like it, I can at always try something else.

It's worth a shot bud and if Resolve isn't your thing hit me up and I'll help you out with PS. I want to try Resolve myself but I'm too used to After Effects now and still learning cool tricks in that so I will probably stick with it.

I know a few people are using Resolve though and they all say good things about it.

Good news bud, hopefully, you get that hand back to 100% at some point.

Prizes are all sorted and we move onto the next contest which will be NGS (Non Gif Shoop) the current champ is @Reach4theSky.

I'll talk to the shoop council soon to look at potential dates and UFC events that fit the bill and I'll put out the alert and tag everyone to let you know.

Another great contest all done, and another great performance from all the shoopers. Thanks for all the time and effort you guys put into the scene.
